Washing must be exposed to 63 degrees for 13 minutes or more, Washing must be exposed to 71 degrees for 3 minutes or more, Obviously 90 degree boil washes are best but unpractical for many fabrics. There are 2 recognised methods of killing viruses: 1 with heat and 2 with bleach, constant bleaching is impractical. many fabrics cant be heated too much. We are informed that Covid 19 is suspended in soap when exposed to soap for 20 seconds or more. It is believed to be a positive virus and the negative tail within the soap kills/neutralises the virus after exposure for the 20 seconds.
Low temperature washes does not kill all bacteria and can encourage cultivation of same. That’s why black dots are appearing on the door seals.
