Dundonald Credit Unions key aim and function is combating financial exclusion in the area. The key function is to make available affordable loans and provide a safe and accessible means of saving to their members.
The Credit Union aims to play a vital role in service provision within the area with flexible opening times, e. g. evenings and Saturdays, and local, accessible facilities and approachable volunteers staffing the service ensuring that it is appropriate and meets the needs of the area. The Credit Union aims to encourage prudent management of finances in its member households, by placing an emphasis on borrowing and saving at the same time.
It is the policy of the Board of Directors and an important aim of Dundonald Credit Union to provide the best value of service to our members.
Dundonald Credit Union competes on the basis of knowing their customers (who are also their members), local accessibility, flexibility, professionalism, straightforward application procedures and membership accountability. They are a part of the community, not apart from it. Dundonald Credit Union aims to assist social and economic regeneration in the local community, providing an essential service, building capacity within the area.
The Credit Union also aims to and plays an important part in countering the operation of unscrupulous and illegal money lending within the area.

As you may be aware there are a lot of parking restrictions on the Upper Newtownards Road. (outside of our office) If you are finding it difficult to access our office do not hesitate to contact us and we will make suitable arrangements.
Dundonald Credit Union AGM was held on Wednesday 23rd March 2017. 2016 was a successful year, with a growth of 9% in shares and an 8% growth on income over expenditure. After setting aside funds for general reserve and provision for bad debt the Credit Union declared a dividend of 0.5% which is more than most financial institution are paying on savings.
The Board of the Credit Union met on Saturday to produce a three year business plan to take us to 2019.
One of the main aims was to increase our membership, aiming for 3000 members by 2019.
Payments can be made by debit card now, even if you pay over the phone during opening hours.
