We are part of the Sea Cadet Corps, a National organisation with units across the country, with 10 in Northern Ireland. Our cadets get involved in a wide range of activities, a lot of them on the water, but also on land as well.

Besides our meeting night on a Thursday, there are many weekends and week long events throughout the year, some local, and some across the water. Throughout the year our cadets compete in 7 National Competitions against cadets from all over the UK.

Our activities include : Sea Cadets, Air Rifle Shooting, Shooting, Fullbore Target Shooting, Swimming, Wind Surfing, Camping, Diving, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rowing and Sailing.

BROADSWORD CADETS MEET HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR
Cadets Blake, Tom and Nathan last night met Tomi Reichental, who is a Holocaust survivor. Tomi was born in Czechoslovakia in 1935 to Jewish farmers and lived with his family on their farm until he was eight. At this age laws started coming in that prohibited the movement and rights of Jewish people and that is when he and his family went into hiding. Unfortunately he, his mother, his brother and his grandmother were caught and taken to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1944 where they stayed until the camp was liberated by the British in 1945. He is the author of ‘I was a Boy in Belsen’. Tomi regularly gives talks around the country and internationally to ensure that the horrors of World War II are never forgotten and that the mistakes of the past are never repeated.
