About Ebr Tourism Development Plan
The East Border Region Tourism Development Plan has been awarded £2. 7 million from the INTERREG IVA Programme to support the development of tourism products that will attract domestic and overseas visitors and will contribute towards improving the performance of the tourism industry in the region.
The Tourism products will be supported on a cross border basis and will be based on themed areas including Christian Heritage, Countryside Tourism, New Technology, Marine Water Sports and Beach Development. In particular, focus will be placed on encouraging and supporting projects which will develop tourism activities and broaden the tourism season. In addition support will be provided to promote and enhance the visitor experience through improved visitor servicing in particular utilising new technologies.
The projects involves in the region of 44 sub components throughout the ten Local Authority areas ranging from small scale environmental improvement schemes to large scale infrastructure projects.
