About Eden Pottery

Studio based pottery with shop and cafe - full of hand made loveliness!

Eden Pottery Description

Eden pottery is a small studio based pottery run by Philip Walton and Heather Anderson.

We hand throw our pottery, before moving onto decoration using sponges that are designed and cut by Phil.

We are situated in a lovely part of Northern Ireland, the Ards Peninsula, our studio, shop and café are set in the countryside surrounded by fields, with Strangford Lough on one side and beaches and the seaside on the other.
Our popular decorating studio is open for you to come along and create your own masterpiece, using sponges that we cut to make pottery decorating easy and fun. There are lots of items to choose from with mugs, jugs bowls and plates, as well as unusual shaped plaques, there is something for everyone.

We went with the children over the summer holidays to Eden Pottery. It's a bit out of the way for us which is a shame. The kids had a brilliant day. The staff were very good at helping and directing the kids with their Pottery.

Only recommendation I could make is let to let customers print onto paper the first few times, because you paint on sponges it's hard to work out how hard to press, so a piece of cardboard would have help and saved a few tears.

All in all but a great experience, the Pottery was posted to us once finished and arrived well packed in one piece.

Would definitely go back.

User

We went over easter to make some beautiful pottery. It was busy that day but all the staff were v v helpful and took time to help us with our ideas. The coffee shop is fantastic and everything is home made and fresh, and they do a gluten free range for me

User

We had a wonderful experience on Saturday when we had pottery painting and afternoon tea for 15 for my hen party. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, staff were friendly and attentive with us when explaining how to use the colours and sponges, and the food was excellent. We really appreciated accommodations for my friend with dietary requirements as well. This is the second time I've been and I'm sure I'll be back! Thank you x

User

Was at Eden Pottery tonight with 1st Kircubbin Guides. Wow ... just wow!!! It was a fantastic evening and I can safely say that each and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Great night finished of by scrumptious chocolate brownies and cream can't wait to see the finished pieces.

User

Took my Mum to Eden for her 50th birthday - we were supposed to arrive at 2pm and due to road works ended up being a lot later, the staff were so lovely and accommodating! The food was beautiful! And we throughly enjoyed our time painting our items. The only thing I would say is maybe if the sponges were categorized as it’s a wee bit overwhelming - but throughly enjoyed our time here ! Will be back for sure !

User

One of my favourite places to go to for a coffee and catchup with friends my daughter loves to do the paintings and has done it a few times now great food and lovely staff

User

My friend treated me to an afternoon at Eden for a birthday surprise and we absolutely loved it. The staff were amazing, helpful, friendly and accommodating in every way. We went mid week, which was great as it wasn't too busy and we were able to peruse what pottery we wanted to use, what designs we wanted and all in all really had a great time. There is a lovely ambience, helped along by beautiful homemade cakes served on Eden' s own pottery.

We are definitely going back, totally recommend a visit.

User

My friend organised a baby shower at Eden pottery for me, starting with coffee and cake then pottery painting. We had an amazing day and the staff were friendly and great fun. I'll def be back to do some baby footprints

I went back with my baby girl to print her foot prints on a couple of tiles and again couldn't recommend Eden pottery enough, we had a lovely relaxed time and they went above and beyond expectations to ensure I had my pieces before Christmas.

User

My daughter and I had a wonderful afternoon at Eden Pottery today. Gorgeous quiche and salad lunch, super pottery painting (with a huge selection of stamps and pots) and hot chocolate with raspberry and white chocolate scones for afternoon tea. All the staff were so helpful and supportive but Phil, Naomi and Katie went above and beyond.

Thank you so much - we'll be back for sure.

User

User

I ordered some pieces from their website for a wedding present. One of the items wasn't in stock so they informed me promptly and made me another piece which was actually worth more in the end but they kept the price the same for me :). Their communication with me was timely and polite. My friend absolutely loved the items too! Would recommend the online shop.

User

Had my sister’s hen party here today and it was absolutely brilliant. The afternoon tea was gorgeous - Heather was so attentive and accommodating to several food allergies. The painting was great fun too. Naomi, Heather and Phil were very attentive and helpful and couldn’t have been better hosts. Would definitely recommend Eden Pottery and would love to come back!

User

Had my daughter olivias 7 th birthday party here today . Heather went above and beyond . Sandwiches with no butter for my fussy eaters !! Was more than patient with are party of 6 (plus a mini willow who was very good) . The parents enjoyed lovely traybakes and most of all the kids had great fun which was most important . Although i love eden pottery myself this was fab and a must for arty kids. Heather and naomi you did a fab job and should be proud . Little gems . The only down side is i have to return to collect the art which means i will be tempted by yummy food and to do some more pieces for our collection - such a hardship !!! See you all again soon xxxx

I went over with a friend to make a Father's Day present a few weeks back with our 3 year olds as We wanted to give the dads something personal that the kids could make themselves, the lady who I presume was the owner had a terrible attitude from the moment we walked in, told us our kids where too young and they had had too many bad experiences with young kids in the past, she repeated herself over and over making us feel like children ourselves and making a very clear presumption that our kids where just going to reek havoc, regardless we stood our ground as my friend has been there before with her little one with no issues, the kids where fabulous as we were supervising them the entire time, needless to say she had to apologise and eat her words. I completely understand that bad experiences can happen with young kids but this lady had absolutely no people or customer service skills whatsoever, considering we spent easily £35 each on making the mugs and having lunch. It's a shame, I won't be back
