HOLY WEEK 2020!
In Eglinton we still traditionally celebrate Holy Week, and every night there are events or services in the church halls. This year was to be no exception...
...except it was. And while the planned dinners, family service, BBQ, communion etc are postponed until 2021, weŌĆÖll still be here every night this week as we mark and remember JesusŌĆÖ final week on earth.
... See you at 8pm for episode 1.

EgOn Week 3!
ŌĆ£Faith is trusting in GodŌĆÖs purpose for usŌĆØ
This Palm Sunday, itŌĆÖs SamŌĆÖs first week at the helm of EgOn and Naomi has something in store for our kids with this weeks Mini Egs.
... Speaking of Mini Egs, watch out for the emoji game coming in a separate post!
Check back around 7.45pm for the second podcast from the Youth Fellowship (i-SOUL-ation), this week focusing on that in between day of Easter Saturday.
DonŌĆÖt forget this incoming week is Holy Week so weŌĆÖll have something new every evening, not quite the same as the events and services we had planned but weŌĆÖll make the very best of what we can!
Finally, donŌĆÖt forget about the post-church tea and chat, it might be virtual at the moment but itŌĆÖs still important. So pick someone and text them, phone them or video call them for a chat after church. Have a good Sunday! https://vimeo.com/showcase/6889449

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, GodŌĆÖs very own possession.
... As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
ŌĆ£Once you had no identity as a people; now you are GodŌĆÖs people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received GodŌĆÖs mercy.ŌĆØ

DAILY GOOD NEWS
LukeŌĆ¼ ŌĆŁ11:33-36ŌĆ¼ ŌĆŁ
No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket.
... Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
ŌĆ£Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness.
Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness.
If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.ŌĆØŌĆØ ŌĆŁŌĆŁ

ŌĆ£The Lord is my light and my salvationŌĆö so why should I be afraid?
... The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.ŌĆØ

Psalms 119: 105-112
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
... IŌĆÖve promised it once, and IŌĆÖll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations. I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again as you promised.
Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations. My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heartŌĆÖs delight. I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end.ŌĆØ ŌĆŁŌĆŁŌĆ¼ ŌĆŁ

DAILY GOOD NEWS
John 1: 1-12
ŌĆ£In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God.
... God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.
The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came into the very world he created, but the world didnŌĆÖt recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.ŌĆØ ŌĆŁŌĆŁ

Psalm 100
ŌĆ£Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness.
... Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.ŌĆØ
