Irish Glass Artist

Eleanor-Jane is an artist living and working on the North Coast of Ireland. Her work ranges from small pieces of jewellery, framed pieces, interior designed glass work, wall art, working with clients' on commission pieces and organising Warm Glass workshops.

She is inspired by where she lives, the land and seascape, the structure of the land, and volcanic layers. She is fascinated by the concept of listening - to each other, the land, and to Creator Three-in-One.

She exhibits and sells her work locally and has been employed as a Glass Artist designing course documents and delivering programmes for young people on Youth Diversion and Capacity Building projects in Ballysally /Churchlands, Ballymoney, Magherafelt, Maghera and Coleraine. She has also designed and delivered a Workshop for NIGAT's Summer School (Northern Ireland's Groups for Art as Therapy) and been employed as a Community Artist facilitating group work for CRUN (Coleraine Rural and Urban Network), Oasis Causeway, Age Concern Causeway, Age Concern Dementia Group besides organising other community workshops.

Current workshops are proving very popular for those wishing to take a day away on the North Coast and spend an afternoon learning about warm glass, then designing and assembling glass pieces of their own. Private workshops for birthday parties, ladies who lunch, and, for example, a social group are both relaxed and productive.


In 2007 Eleanor-Jane graduated as a mature student from the University of Ulster with an Associate Bachelor Degree in Fine and Applied Art with Commendation. During her time at Art College she specialised in print-making and sculpture; it was here that she experienced working with glass - fusing, casting and printing on glass. Since then she has developed her knowledge and skill of glass working, using both warm and cold processes in her practice. Previous qualifications and skills acquired through achieving a Part-time Teaching Diploma and a University of Ulster Certificate in Counselling, both with Distinction, fall into place when facilitating community workshops.
