This type of event is a good starting point for any rider wanting to have a go at eventing or for a young competition horse just starting out. Dressage will take place on grass, with the showjumping in the Derby Arena. Dressage tests are attached as follows:

This pony has been ridden by a 13 year old girl since he was a just broken 3 year old. Quiet, easy going, very trainable and a lovely character. Shows huge potential to be a serious event pony or a fabulous all rounder. Brave, honest and straightforward in his jumping. Completed his first one day event last weekend and took it all in his stride. Produced a steady dressage test, went clear SJ and was on track for a double clear but rider missed a XC fence. Been out jumping clear rounds at training shows and confidently jumping cross country up to 90cm. Rides in a simple snaffle bridle at all times. Good to box, shoe, clip, bath etc. Vaccinations and worming up to date.
This is a genuinely safe pony, but as a 4 year old he is still green and needs bringing on. Sadly for sale as current rider has just grown too tall (see photos). Based at Eric Pele Equestrian. Excellent trial facilities.

With 149 entries it was always going to be a long day, but thanks to a fantastic team on the ground and the cooperation of riders, the first horse entered the dressage arena at 08.30 and the last horse crossed the finish line at 17:49. ONE DAY EVENT & TWO PHASE 5 AUGUST _____________________________________
RIDERS WHO HAVE THEIR OWN NUMBER BIBS SHOULD BRING THEM ALONG. BIBS WILL BE PROVIDED OTHERWISE
... DRESSAGE: Allocated times MUST be strictly adhered to. Proper dress with jacket is required (either tweed, navy or black). Whips are not permitted during the test. Please refer to the attached list to see which bits are allowed for dressage.
SHOW JUMPING: Riding jackets are optional. Cross country gear may also be worn for this phase.
CROSS COUNTRY: Body protectors are compulsory in this phase. Penalties are as follows: 1st stop = 20 pens; 2nd stop at same fence = 40 pens; 3rd stop = elimination and you will need to leave the course. If a horse falls, it will be eliminated. If a rider falls and is not injured, they may remount and carry on at the judge's discretion, with 65 penalties incurred. If a rider has a second fall, they will be eliminated and they must leave the course on foot. There is an optimum time for each class. To ensure a safe but competitive round, this means that you are expected to ride at a pace which is faster than you would for showjumping, but not at gallop. If you are within the range of 10 secs under or 5 secs over the optimum time, you will not incur penalties. In the event of an equal score, then closest to the optimum time wins.
PRIZE GIVING: Proper dress is required.
The cross country course will be open today from 4-9pm for walking on foot.

This is a great place to take both the baby horse and the more experienced horse. Lots to see and experience in both the new sand arena and on grass. Eric is also very friendly and will step in to help when needed. Great set up, just glad we can all get to use it!
The new all weather xc course is fab! Great use of the undulating ground with inviting fences and plenty of questions asked of both horse and rider
Myself and group from my riding club spent the day at lisbane farm. My first time meeting Eric. Although I am utterly exhausted I must say not only were the facilities fantastic at Lisbane farm but Erics lessons were very informative and fun. I learned so much more today than I have in years riding. Can't wait to get back!
My girls love the facilities at Eric Pele Equestrian, we'd be there every weekend if we didn't live so far away ;) Great fun!!
Love this place! Eric and his team excel in making everyone welcome and every week there is a different course with more challenges. Great for young horses and getting riders confidence up with loads of different jumps, water crossings, banks, steps, ditched and much more. Can't recommend this place enough! Has to be one of the best places for xc schooling I've been too, if your horse goes round here he will go round anything ☺
Had a group lesson with Eric yesterday it was class brilliant facilities and instructor gave me a lot more confidence definitely come away with a big smile �

Exceptional top class facilities, all down to the dedication, passion and hard work from Eric himself a top class horse man. I have been using these facilities from 2011 and have seen tremendous changes in the expansion of the facilities at Lisbane farm and the incorporation of new fences, tracks and the amazing arena. Great training facility for both young horses and experienced horses, young riders and experienced riders with help from Eric at all times if required. Had an amazing lesson today as always with my rising 4 year old as he was introduced to water, ditches, banks, hedges, coloured poles, steps and the inviting track around the perimeter of Lisbane farm. I hope to be able to continue schooling my young horses at this amazing facility for many more years to come.
