The 2018 Fonacab St Paul's Golden Gloves Handball tournament begins this Friday welcoming players, coaches, volunteers and families from all over Ireland to this mammoth competition held in West Belfast.
... The tournament serves off this Friday and will be the biggest and best showcase of Irish Handball held over recent years.
With a massive 180 matches down for decision over nine courts in St Paul's, Gort na Mona, Rossa, Coláiste Féirste and Queens, the Golden Gloves will be the largest club-run event in the world in 2018, an astonishing achievement and a task tournament organisers at St Pauls are relishing.
Almost all of Irelands top ranked players will be competing, including no 1 seed Charly Shanks, All Ireland Champion Martin Mulkerrins and Corks Diarmaid Nash while Catriona Casey and local favourite Aisling Reilly head the Ladies Open field.
If you are in Belfast this weekend, call into one of the courts and don’t miss out on seeing Irelands best players, juvenile through to senior battle it out for the coveted Golden Gloves title.

Cultúrlann Mcadam Ó Fiaich host a great bit of Ceol agus Craic with an afternoon of the finest traditional musicians Robbie Hannan and Paddy Glackin. These two musicians have released a number of albums, as solo artists and with other musicians. In 1995 they released a joint album entitled Séideann Sí.
The musicians have incredible skill and ability and it’s a privilege to see them performing together on the Cultúrlann stage.
