Family Routes is a voluntary sector organisation based in Northern Ireland. Our core services provide support for families who have adopted, children who have been adopted, birth relatives of adopted children, adopted adults trying to find birth relatives and we provide fertility counselling. Adoption Routes: Our aim is to find families for children who are no longer able to live with their birth families. Adoption Routes is a voluntary adoption agency. We work with potential adoptive parents to prepare them for and facilitate the adoption process. Fertility Counselling: We are here to provide support and understanding for individuals and couples facing fertility problems. Fertility Counselling is for anyone undergoing fertility investigations, fertility treatments or who have recently undergone treatment, whether it was successful or not. It is a service for those who would like to talk through their thoughts, emotions or problems with an experienced counsellor. Next Step: We are an independent support service to birth families whose children have been placed for adoption. Next step offer a confidential counselling and support service. We provide information about the adoption process. We help birth families fully understand what the plans mean for them and their child. We listen, allow people to talk about their experience of loss, grief, guilt, and help them understand what has happened to their child and why. TESSA: TESSA stands for Therapeutic, Education and Support Services in Adoption. We are a project aimed at supporting families across Northern Ireland who have at least one child between the ages of two and twelve years old, who has been adopted. TESSA is a Family Routes project, partnered with Adoption UK (NI). TESSA is currently funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, as part of their Reaching out, Supporting Families initiative.
