Finding the perfect shade of blue.... 👀

Thinking forwards and planning towards our AW18 Collection...
We have had our designer sketch one of our classic dresses in this decadent Midnight-Blue to give you an idea of what is to come as we approach the thread selection process. This can be a slow complicated process to ensure perfection is achieved. Stamped with our signature scallop trim neckline and gold back-zipper.

Mood boards & Inspiration...
I take a lot of inspiration from nature and earths natural beauty to inspire my designs and colour selection process. Thinking ahead for New Collection ideas I’m looking at different shades of blue. These stunning images definitely brightened up my day, I hope they do yours as well. 💙

As a Designer the Scallop Trim is My Signature.
Here is bit about The History of the Symbolism of the Scallop Shell
It is a Fertility Symbol
... Throughout antiquity, scallops and other hinged shells have symbolized the feminine principle. Outwardly, the shell can symbolize the protective and nurturing principle, and inwardly, the "life-force slumbering within the Earth".
Many paintings of Venus, the Roman goddess of love and fertility, included a scallop shell in the painting to identify her. This is evident in Botticelli's classically inspired 15th century painting The Birth of Venus.
One legend of the Way of St. James holds that the route was seen as a sort of fertility pilgrimage, undertaken when a young couple desired to bear offspring. The scallop shell is believed to have originally been carried, therefore, by pagans as a symbol of fertility.
The scallop shell is also the shell of Saint James.
- Saint James by Carlo Crivelli, c. 1480
The scallop shell is the traditional emblem of St James the Great and is popular with pilgrims returning from the Way of St James (Camino de Santiago - A journey for the soul) and the apostle's shrine at Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. Medieval Christians would collect a scallop shell while at Compostela as evidence of having made the journey. The association of Saint James with the scallop can most likely be traced to the legend that the apostle once rescued a knight covered in scallops. An alternative version of the legend holds that while St. James' remains were being transported to Galicia (Spain) from Jerusalem, the horse of a knight fell into the water, and emerged covered in the shells.
When referring to St James, a scallop shell valve is displayed with its convex outer surface showing. In contrast, when the shell refers to the goddess Venus, it is displayed with its concave interior surface showing.

The first designs from the SS18 Collection.
A expression of romance, colour and femininity. These dresses all boost my signature scallop trim and a full-length gold back-zip detailing. All dresses are designed in a midi length to cover the knee for any high society event and complimented with a sleeve for an extra level of sophistication and charm.

Not only a powerful artist and historical feminist ‘Frida Kahlo’ is undeniably a style icon to many and a massive inspiration to women around the world.
I’m hugely inspired by the bright colours she surrounds herself with in many of the images I’ve seen. The eye catching flowers laced into her deep black hair are a personal favourite and strong influence of mine.

The complications of the logo process...
When we look at a brand we instantly make a judgement on how we perceive this company / designer. So this process is incredibly tough and extremely important to the future of 'Felicity-Faye'.
Wanting the best of the best (not just the best) and having such a clear vision on how I see my designs in the market is a incredibly challenging process. This has become very consuming and when setting up a new business alone as a creative is ver...y difficult as you worry your vision alone is not enough!
Finally can we please take a moment to appreciate my friend son, George, who's best efforts was very well received. Thank you George. <3
Love from 'Felicity-Faye' xx
