Fhass Floating Support Services

Floating Support is to improve and enhance the independent living skills of people at risk of experiencing homelessness and /or tenancy breakdown.

Floating Support is provided to people in their own homes and we look to support you from becoming homeless. We provide:

• A support package that will be tailored
to your individual needs

• Help you to maintain independence in your own accommodation

• In the event of homelessness, assist the individual /family in finding appropriate accommodation

• Can help signpost you to other services and advocate on your behalf

• Can provide a flexible approach, allowing you to return to the service if require further help


Support and assistance will be offered in terms of:

• Practical living skills e. g. cooking, budgeting, shopping, cleaning, personal hygiene
• Providing advice on bills and debts e. g. rent, gas, electricity, telephone, oil, catalogues, credit cards
• Social skills and confidence building
• Encouraging community involvement
• Setting up a home
• Housing issues

• Employment /Training /Education
• Ensuring you know who to contact in an emergency or an out of hours situation

When the support is no longer required, the support floats off to another person who needs it.
The support can return if you need it again.
