Flagstaff Lodge

Great food and great atmosphere, only thing I would say is we were waiting a while for our food but there was a wedding on the same time so I would guess that way

It's always delightful to eat and/or drink at the Flagstaff Lodge (formerly know as The Golf Club). The food menu is fantastic and caters for every taste. On offer are lunches, dinners and their ever popular Sunday Carvery. The lunchtime chicken noodle stir fry is delicious (and fairly spicy) whilst the chicken curry is also well worth ordering. The food is beautifully presented and portion sizes are generous.

There is a good sized car park at the front of the building, as well as overflow parking to the rear. As its former name suggests, there is a popular golf course to the rear of the premises and recently introduced Foot Golf is available for youngsters.

The Flagstaff Lodge is a firm favourite with locals and caters for many wedding and birthday parties as well as countless other events. It offers cosy corners for intimate dining, larger areas for small groups, and families are always warmly welcomed. A large dining area is used for bigger functions. Additionally, there are several pleasant outdoor seating areas with fabulous views across the picturesque Mourne Mountains - if the weather permits!

Live music evening sessions are popular at weekends.

Recently, extensive work has been completed to add overnight accommodation for wedding parties, visitors to the area and so on. As a local living within walking distance, I haven't needed to stay over but from hearsay I believe it is amazing.

The whole venue is well run and spotlessly clean and the proprietor and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I can personally highly recommend The Flagstaff Lodge as I have yet to have had a bad experience in the venue and have visited and dined here many times in my 40+ years of life. 😊

. From kitchen porters, waiting staff, bar staff, receptionists, night porter's, friendly, polite, very helpful and easy to have the craic with. Rooms lovely, food excellent and smoking areas too. Plenty of car parking, 5 mins from center of Newry. Cannot recommend the "Flagstaff Lodge" highly enough. Well done to management, all the staff and owner, on an excellent, friendly, custom driven, ( not profit before customer care), hotel/Lodge. Definitely be back.

A little gem on the outskirts of Newry. Rooms furnished to high standard. Food excellent and well presented. Staff very friendly.
On the downside it's built into a steep hill so be careful walking to from cars

Went for a family meal and was pleased with the service and the menu choice especially their gluten free choice. Food arrived promptly and was warm and excellent. The place was busy for a Monday night. Lovely ambience and would highly recommend here. Only problem parking is on a hill so people with walking difficulties I would recommend leaving them to the door first and then park but is wheel chair accessible

I was a wedding guest at the Flagstaff Lodge on Friday. It's a lovely place. Can be busy but it has to be expected. The only point I would improve about the wedding organisation was that after the dinner and before the dancing thryafe us all go out of the function room and into the bar/lounge area. It was a bit disruptive. Other than that I really enjoyed the family occasion.

Great service a little busy, only downside was football during the "restaurant" meal.
