Attended the Flame Gasworks with a group of photographers from Carrickfergus Photographic Society. Our tour was excellent and our guide was both enthusiastic and most informative. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Fascinating to hear about the history of gas and to actually see and handle the numerous appliances that depicted the evolving technology. A massive thank you to our guide whom, even though it was a bitterly cold evening, took the time to let us access the top of the water filled tank from where we had a panoramic view of Carrickfergus. A thoroughly impressive tour and one I would definitely recommend.

Visited here as part of the European Heritage Open Day 2016. Great experience, was great to learn about a technology that is very much redundant. Worth going just to get to climb on top of one of the huge gas cylinders!
