The Spirit Store Omagh Co Tyrone First Friday Trad Tonight - Friday 7th February sees the visit of Sliabh Luachra accordionist Bryan O'Leary and County Down singer and guitar player Marty Barry.
Both lads are members of Trad group The Conifers and have toured extensively in Europe and across America. Bryan is also a former TG4 young musician of the year.

Best wishes Barry Conaty Cavan musician is finalist for Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal
Cavan musician Barry Conaty will be amongst fifteen finalists taking to the stage to compete for the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal in the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork on Friday 7 February, and the event will be broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
... Barry is from Ballyhaise, and is currently studying Primary teaching in St Pat's Drumcondra. He’s an All-Ireland Champion on flute and whistle, and piano. Barry toured with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in Ireland and Britain in 2018/19 and is also a member of the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland and The IMBOLC Senior Orchestra. .
Barry played in The National Folk Orchestra last weekend in Kilmainham Gaol as part of The Temple Bar Trad fest and will play with IMBOLC orchestra in The Guildhall in Derry on Sunday 9th February.
He’s Co. Cavan Comhaltas Youth Officer and teaches music every week
Another musician with Cavan connections, Michael Walsh, will be travelling from Sheffield to compete. Michael’s mother Nellie is from Gowna. Michael is a member of the Leeds Céilí Band, and released his solo album Quarehawk last year. He’s a doctoral researcher in the Music Department in the University of Sheffield.
Peadar Ó Riada will present the event live from the Rochestown Park Hotel from 7 pm – 10 pm. Esteemed musicians Michael Tubridy, Mary Bergin and Gary Hastings will have the difficult job of choosing the winner, and the criteria will include not only technical proficiency, but playing that demonstrates musicality and soul as well. The winner will take home the prestigious Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal, as well as €2500.
