We will be closing up shop at 11:00am today to head for a well deserved Christmas lunch. We will be reopening Thursday next week then closing again for New Year’s Day. They have always been something to be very wary of in our opinion

Here we have a 2008 Mini Cooper that was feeling kinda festive with its dash lit up like a Christmas tree 🤣. ABS, traction control and flat tyre indicator lights on dash have now been traced through to water ingress in the multi plug for the ABS module. This has been cleaned and washed out refitted, codes cleared and road tested, ready to go back home

🤦‍♂️ Just lovely! Mk5 Golf R32 suffering coolant loss and steam out of heater vents. Heater matrix has ruptured and the drips you can see (further away one if you look closely) are dropping right on top of the airbag control module. Bit of stripping required here. Sore back here I come 😞

Here we have a Xenon headlamp unit with corner turning function from a 2012 Seat Leon. Any body want to hazard a guess at complete unit replacement cost?

So servicing a car is too expensive? Here we have a classic example of why a strict servicing regime saves money. Pictured are the pair of cabin filters from a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder. These are due replacement every 18,000miles or 24 months, we doubt if these have ever been replaced, hence they are block up with all sorts of dust, leaves, bugs and goodness only knows what else is in there! The down side this owner has now experienced is the heater blower motor has packed up, cabin filters range from £6 to £40, this particular heater blower motor is £510 😨.

Here we have a late 2011 Renault Clio with just 50k miles. We removed the under tray and most of the front 1/2 sub frame fell on the floor! Not what the owner was expecting when left off for a service and MOT prep. What’s worse is that the car would most likely have passed its MOT as, like most of the underneath of any car, it cannot be seen for plastic covers.

Anybody able to identify the issue here? Another so called specialist failing epically with such safety critical components 😡😡 (I will confirm the issue later)

Please don’t drive through flooded roads unless you want to gamble with scrapping your engine just as this poor focus has. Number one con rod broke and can be seen poking through the block in the last photo. Not a cheap repair either

And this is what £120/hr +vat at a main dealer gets you when your oil level sensor wiring needs repaired! To think this car has no physical dipstick relying solely on this sensor.

Ever wonder where all that waste oil goes? Well now you know! Environmental costs can be devastating but we like to stay ahead with this waste product now going to be refined and then reused as a form of fuel oil in industrial sites around the country, we pay to have it removed and they are then paying to burn it! I suppose ENVA are the only winners!
