Merry xmas flower lovers!! Finally finished & signing off!! Thank u to everyone who has supported me each year 💕 I love what I do .. I love flowers .. I love all the wee details & special touches that goes into making that bouquet bespoke n original 😍 I have met the most wonderful creative people thru floristry 💕 But I actually love teaching & working with others .. being cooped up on my own working late into the night in a cold flower studio is hard & v lonely .. juggling that work/family balance on my own has proven difficult this yr So sadly it’s time to call it a day ... from January 2019 Fleur Rebelle will be movin in a new direction .. I’m closing my books for weddings & peak times n will be freelancing for other florists & taking on a few workshops within the community .. new year .. new journey .. 💕 xx

Christmas 2018 Blog post .. Wow what a mad few weeks of wreath makin it has been!! Am so genuinely overwhelmed by all the orders n I really wish I could have made more but the reality is that each wreath is made from scratch n each one takes a good few hours when your doin it by yourself .. Step 1 .. mossing .. building a base of rich organic moss around different sized copper wreath rings .. Step 2 .. Preparing the foliage’s that make the backbone of the wreaths .. trips... to the wholesalers to collect locally grown spruce, ivy, conifer, pine, berries, rosemary .. all the fresh Christmassy textures .. 🎄 Step 3 .. binding the bundles of foliage’s with wire around each mossed ring to create a sumptuous natural base .. the time this takes depends on the size as most of you kno I like big door wreaths (n I cannot lie 😉) Step 4 .. hand wiring each orange slice, cinnamon stick, whole oranges n limes, pine cones n lotus pods then adding them onto each wreath n securing them into place Step 5 .. Ribbon time .. traditional reds, glitzy rose golds, lots of velvet gorgeousness I do luv a ribbon .. some go at the bottom .. some go to the top .. if your a “ribbon to the side” type a person then it goes to the side there’s no right or wrong way to add ribbons 🎀 Step 6 .. backing .. I back each wreath wiv a plastic “backing” to protect doors from getting marked by the damp moss although am looking into alternatives to this as next yr would like to b more eco friendly n plastic ain’t good for the environment!! Step 7 .. hand stamping all the tags, threading silk ribbon thru n tying them on ready for delivery .. N there we hav it .. all sold out .. I honestly feel awful saying no to orders especially when ones are so supportive of my work but it’s so important getting that work/family balance right especially at this time of year .. hopefully next year I may b able to get a few “elves” in to help me or possibly plan a “workshop” (depending on numbers interested) where u can make your own .. good craic n Prosecco would b a must 😉 Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas n a healthy, happy 2019 .. off now to scrub the dirt off my hands 🙈🎄
