Gaelscoil & Naíscoil Na Mbeann Description
Gaelscoil na mBeann is an Irish-medium primary school which was established in 2010 by a group of local people and parents who wanted Irish-medium education for their children. Our founders had a clear vision for the education they wanted and the whole school has worked tirelessly to make their vision a reality. In 2012, Gaelscoil na mBeann gained recognition and funding from the Department of Education. Situated in the heart of Kilkeel, beside our feeder pre-school, Naíscoil na mBeann, we will provide your child with an excellent education, and a second language, the indigenous language of the Mourne community.

Well done to these girls from Rang 6/7 who participated in St. Colmans netball tournament today. The girls showed great teamwork against great opposition from local schools. Thank to St.Colmans for inviting us to an excellent sporting occasion.

The pupils in Gaelscoil na mBeann have been producing some great pieces of writing. We feel that the children, who are working hard and learning to write in 2 languages, should be celebrated.

A "Street Party" is happening this Sunday 5th May in Tullymore Forest Park.
This is a bilingual family event organised by Boirche Iochtar and Glór Uachtar Tíre.
Meeting at 1pm in the car park beside the playground!
