Winter Solstice Remembrance Night
In the midst of the Christmas rush, the Garden of Reflection will provide a peaceful sanctuary in the City Centre for visitors to enjoy.
Join us on the 21st December for the annual Garden of Reflection Winter Solstice Celebration.... Light up the Garden of Reflection by illuminating a small paper lantern in memory of a loved one.
The event will run from 5pm – 6:30pm with live carols from Voices of the Foyle. Light sculptures will have been created by REACH Across.
Refreshments will be served in the Holywell Trust.
Complimentary Lanterns will be available on the night.

You may have noticed that the Garden of Reflection gallery has been undergoing some remedial work over the past few weeks. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope to be up and running again very soon.
In the meantime, we are currently working on an exciting line up of exhibitions as part of a special Youth 19 project.... Keep an eye on the page for updates on what’s in store throughout the coming year.✨

Born in Belfast in 1959, Barbara Allen graduated with a BA in graphic design from the University of Ulster in 1982. During a post-graduate course which she completed in 1984, she was able to concentrate on her favourite subject matter, vernacular architecture, especially the Georgian Era.
In 1991 Barbara won a National Trust Arkell Travel Fellowship to Norway. In 1993 she returned to Norway for a major one-woman show in Bergen.
"I am an accomplished Irish artist best known for my watercolour renderings of shopfronts and quirky architecture, however a chance visit to Portmore Pier in Donegal, Ireland inspired me to branch out into other subject matter. Lobster, mackerel, gurnard, langoustine and John Dory. Not prepared to stop at fish I am keen on boats and birds, all rendered with consumate ease and delicious texture."
