As time passes you lose people who in their own quiet way leave their mark on you and others around you. Today Monday we lost one of those characters in Patsy Nixon who for generations of Gervin’s snooker club and Gervin’s social club members was a personality who always brought cheer to the occasion. He played with the snooker teams through the old East Tyrone league and later the Belfast provincial a fine player at both snooker and billiards. But he soon adept at passing... on his knowledge to the emerging stars in the most genuine way as the Gervin’s legacy was assured for the future. Patsy loved to see young players come through and equally they loved to meet their mentor and recall the old days. In all cases his friendship was of the old style yet embraced all generations his passing will leave a void but memories will soften the blow. We the Gervin family, staff and all our clientele extend our deepest sympathy to the Nixon family at this sad time. May Patsy Rest in Peace
