Delighted to meet with Mr Irwin Armstrong, Managing Director and Neil Armstrong, Sales Director #CIGAHealthcare Ballymena this morning to commence planning for an exciting competition due to open up to Post Primary schools in the #Ballymena Area. CIGA have generously committed £2,500 bi-annual sponsorship towards a competition that promotes essential workplace skills that link with the curriculum and employability , entrepreneurship qualities and the opportunity for students ...to attain paid work experience as a taster to promote #higherapprenticeships in #manufacturing. The competition will be high profile in the #MidandEastAntrim area with the opportunity for schools to win 'much needed' cash prizes and other tangible prizes for students. Attended my second prize day this week as a special guest at #Kilkeel High School. Fantastic to see so many parents and members of the community attend. Lovely also to meet some of Kilkeel's business sponsors from 2017/18. A special mention in the Principal's speech for the sponsors too 😀 Lovely to meet up with Danielle, who owns Subway franchises and committed to sponsoring both #Kilkeel High School and #Ballynahinch through the BEpartner2prosper initiative. Guest Speaker Mr Justin Edwards, #CCEA Chief Executive also gave an excellent speech using some personal anecdotes about the 3 key C's that played an important part in his journey: Commitment, Collaboration and Creativity.
... For the first time in 17 years I didn't have the gown on, however, I thoroughly enjoyed attending as a guest and meeting old colleagues. Also very appreciative for the special mention in the Principal's speech regarding my own commitment to the school.

Thinking of all the GCSE students across NI receiving results today. Good luck and well done to those young people who achieved their desired grades! To those who didn't get the grades they had hoped for ... there is always a different way! The route I followed was far from traditional.

£7000 raised so far for schools in 6 weeks. Aiming to reach my £10,000 target by the end of August! #BallymoneyHighSchool today.

While working on other initiatives this year, I enjoyed continuing to apply my teaching expertise through private SKYPE tuition and coaching programme with three students. Absolutely delighted Student 1 studying the first year of A Level Digital Technology achieved an 'A' grade, Student 2 in the final year of A Level ICT retained his 'B' grade and Student 3 in the final year of A Level Applied ICT increased his grade from a 'D' to a 'B'. My students worked hard following a new STUDY SKILLS AND COACHING programme I devised. Delighted these young people have been able to access their desired University courses. What a fantastic start to my day
