Such a good place having such a good time and will be back������ Great.... kids love it

Just home from camping and have to say highly recommend kids had a ball and loved the huge park cant wait get down again

Just back from my first visit to golden sands got a good nights sleep no problems

Clean modern toilet block all in all 100%

I have to say my experience of this site was brilliant. Good solid bays, immaculately clean the folks who run it were friendly and accommodating even letting us leave our caravan through the week for little cost, we will definitely be back. The kids loved it and the little chip shop was well tasty and really reasonable with pricing, highly recommended.

First time camping in our new Campervan Tent which was a big hit with everyone. Arrived at 11.30 am no problem getting set up. The place is lovely and clean and a great set up. The people we met were so lovely and welcoming and a great play park for our son. Beautiful views. We will definitely be back soon (weather permitting of course )

Always have a lovely time up in Golden Sands. Toilets and shower blocks have all been upgraded to a good standard. The back field is in the process of having water and drains at every site which will be brilliant when finished. Playpark good for the children. One little negative the electric power is so low we could not even use our microwave. Everything has to be turned off to use more than one electrical appliance.

We're at golden sands now and this is our 2nd day. Its really clean and tidy. Shower block for camping is great. Lovely hot showers and clean. No kitchen for cooking but there is two sinks for washing up dishes with hot water. Park for kids is really good. The only thing I can say about it is that the gate into it is facing the road going into the site. Maybe needs moved up a bit. Other than that. It's great place for camping

Always liked here, peaceful, close to amenities, beach etc. Though spoiled this weekend by noisy inconsiderate campers keeping us and others awake till small hours morning squealing and shouting, then one of these parties having the wit to do doughnuts on the field we all camp on with my 3 year old son crossing the field. The field cleared of alot of tents that day. Though the persons were kicked off by police. Will be back hopefully with more considerate persons sharing the field with everyone.

We were here camping from Fri-Mon and the owner just kept at us for stupid things and he kept making lies up so I pulled him and caught him out lieing the rudeness of this man is shocking that he upset me and 1 of my children, we had a radio on in our tent that we sat outside at wasn't loud he was so rude about that we went to get dinner and left radio on and tent open as others were about but this man went into our tent turned our radio off and unplugged a wee fridge with has my partners injections in, we ended up packing up and leaving just after 11 Sunday night and driving home which is in newtownabbey my kids were so upset having to leave cuz they were enjoying themself but that man just made us want to leave he even told use was time to settle down while other kids played and mine were settling down I had one child just sitting doing nothing wrong, was our first time there it'll be the last well be going to def site down there!!

We have stayed here numerous times with no hassle but the owner who is a complete twat pulled my wife & 2 children off site this morning in a tractor and left them in a field at 9 with his bully boy tactics with the help of 5 other men (big boys), apparently it was noisy lastnite as few neighbours were out having a drink. This morning he came & woke my wife outta bed, he towed away the caravan, also towed away my brother in laws aswell (for no apparent reason) but not once did he go near the neighbors who was out having a drink, absolutely disgusted & will most certainly not be back near this site again!!!

Was very disapointed arive fri about 1.30 got set up with the rain and cold went 2 put r heaters on and everything trip changed plugs as thought was it kept happening approached office as i have 2 kids with me and wanted a warm caravan 2 which the lady who was on was a rude bitch says u only get 6 watt 2 which i answered how am i meant 2 keep my caravan warm and put tv and things was ready 2 pack up but had friends coming 2 so wee stayed i will not b back 2 golden sands its a fucking joke and no mention when ur paying ur £24 u only get 6 watt of electric 4 each caravan and blamed it on the electric board but found out they turn it down themsleves will try sum other sites around there

The owners response was that it was on facebook but my sister and her husband are not on social media. They also claimed it was on their receipt (it wasn't) and on their website. My sister stated that she had no need to check the website since she had already paid. The owners response was that when people have up awnings they use heaters which leads to using more electric which costs him more money!! Apparently he told them each caravan is only allowed £1 electric per day but my sister had paid £25 per day!!! My sister then suggested taking the awning down and putting their stuff into a pop up tent. The owner refused to let them even put up a tent!! They had no choice but to pack up and go and now have 2 very upset children. We will not be back. There is more to running a business than making money!!!!!!!

He told us that he doesn’t need our £20 as he gets £30000 a year from people who own the mobile homes. Appalling behaviour and no people skills.

Having travelled all over GB, Ireland and France I appreciate someone who runs a tight ship on caravan park, especially if it is as big as golden sands, but it was the way he said it.



I explained I understood the rules of no camp fires etx. He then said something which should have set alarm bells ringing but I stupidly didn’t pick up on it as I was so a-taken back. He said ‘if I have to speak to later there’s to be no swearing’.....fast forward 12hours.



We have the tents pitched the kids asleep in bed except one who’s having a night terrors but the mum and dad are trying to settle the little one. We have a citronella candle lit to keep the flies, moths etc at bay. The wee one is noticeably crying in distress and I see this man charge across the field shout all sorts of vulgarity at us for the candle. When I state it is no more than a small tea light he starts to swear and shout, as in his open it’s a campfire. This in turn upsets the kid crying.



By this point my partner expectedly has his back up, its dark and he’s not even identified himself. After a lot of abuse and being told he’s causing unnecessary upset he storms off and terrorises another tent.



I followed him to explain why he got the reaction he did from us. I did this myself to keep the situation calm but he and his wife are like Hitler and Hess. They didn’t even let me speak. I would understand if we caused upset or had been rowdy! The same candle was lit on Saturday and the night staff said it was perfectly fine and agreed that Stanley was a complete nightmare for guests.



If he came onsite on Saturday night he would have had something to sort out. It was terrible campfires everywhere, gazebos up at tents and partying until 2am at some tents!



The electric was poor quality and won’t allow more than a mobile phone on the charge.



Toilets filthy and lacking toilet roll all the time!!



All in all I will not be back and I intend on taking this matter further! This man doesn’t deserve anyone’s money..... I’m ashamed of this site on my own door step!

Booked months ago and paid when we got there on good friday, they took full money then as we were going to put awning up the girl came round and said we couldnt put it up, i had 7 month old twins with me and needed the extra space, what a joke, they even turned the street lamps off one night till complaints were put in, trying to save money overrided health and safety there, if they had told me when i booked then i would have been prepared, awnings went up on the tue and place was still full as the days before so what was the motive, greed!!!!

Toilets filthy and lacking toilet roll all the time!!



All in all I will not be back and I intend on taking this matter further! This man doesn’t deserve anyone’s money..... I’m ashamed of this site on my own door step!

Camped here last Friday and Saturday night and have never been spoke to as bad in all the years I have been camping/caravaning the owner and his wife have 0 maners and the toilet block is disgusting we came home early on the Sunday to shower as place was stinking I will never recommend this site to anyone there is a council site in benone so anyone wanting to stay I recommend staying in it

Booked months ago and paid when we got there on good friday, they took full money then as we were going to put awning up the girl came round and said we couldnt put it up, i had 7 month old twins with me and needed the extra space, what a joke, they even turned the street lamps off one night till complaints were put in, trying to save money overrided health and safety there, if they had told me when i booked then i would have been prepared, awnings went up on the tue and place was still full as the days before so what was the motive, greed!!!!
