At the darkest time in my life, I wanted to talk, to scream and yell, but all I could do was mumble, “I’m fine.” I couldn’t let anyone see my vulnerability because it made me weak, not showing any vulnerability took all my energy and I had no life to live. Madeleine L’Engle says, “When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability....To be alive is to be vulnerable.” So talk, shout, scream, live!

Friday is always a busy day, but how lucky am I to do something I love? The passion I have for my job is passed onto my clients and ensures I give everything to each one of them. It also pushes me to continually improve to make sure I am always up to date with training, so I can understand and help with whatever my clients are struggling with.

We have many responsibilities to others, but before we can help them we need to ensure we are fit and healthy to do so. Always remember you can’t pour from an empty cup. Self-care is not selfish, it’s ok to put yourself first sometimes.
