We visited for the meal in February. Had excellent starters delicious tiny scotch eggs and chowder. Then 2 stakes, great portions and very tasty. The staff were attentive and friendly.

User

We had our wedding reception here a month ago and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Donal and his team were so helpful, friendly, accommodating and really went above and beyond for us. The food was incredible, local and fresh and was served promptly. The space is perfect even for a large group. Couldn't have had a better reception venue!

User

We had a truly beautiful meal at the shack. Starter, main course, dessert and wine all faultless. The staff were wonderful. The lovely bar man at the outside bar. All the guys inside and especially Adam (who may have given us a lift home). I’ve eaten at some exceptional restaurants but that food, that setting, just perfect! Thanks to all the staff! I can’t wait to be back.

User

Totally recommend Harry’s shack. Book early though as it’s busy. Bar outside afterwards is a great venue with music. Please continue with the music as it made for an excellent night. Loved it.

User

This is a must if you are anywhere in the North-West. The food can not be faulted, the backdrop is beautiful and the staff are amazing.

You will not be disappointed ÔøΩ

Sorry but I just can't agree with the negative comments. I have been 4 times now and actually live in the Isle of Man - so obviously visits have not been frequent but interspersed with gaps. Without exception (maybe I was lucky) the food has been fresh and fabulous. I don't want a big menu which alludes to the fact that food is not necessarily fresh and the food that is on the menu has been excellent. The manager and staff each time have also risen to the occasion (I've not always booked - remember to book(!!) and to be honest that's all you can ask for. Each time I've gone the restaurant has been packed so after all this time they must be doing something right or they'd have closed long ago. Keep doing what you're doing guys - a shack on the Atlantic serving fresh fish and pouilly fuisse deserves a gold star!

User

So good to have fresh local food with the best staff who really want you to enjoy your visit.

User

Sent a quick pm on facebook to book a table for a birthday lunch , arrived and had a seat outside until our table was ready, fabulous place, loved the food, staff were great and really friendly . Definitely worth a visit ÔøΩ

My husband and I ÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩhad our magical wedding at Harry's shack on 18..5..18..

It was truly magical....the food was delicious...Donall was simply wonderful...our guests were wowed by the beachside location...we even got a full firework display and a sunset to rival all other sunsets.

Our English friends were truly GOBSMACKED!

Having adventured along the Wild Atlantic Way this summer we have eaten some fantastic food... tonight’s meal was up there with the best Ireland has to offer! compliments au chef!

User

HUGE thank you to Donal and the team at Harry's Shack for hosting my fabulous 50th birthday party last night. The food, service, music and location were simply first class. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and are looking forward to our next night at the number 1 restaurant on the North Coast! üëèüëèüëè

User

Great food. I had the Greencastle Plaice, my brother and his girlfriend had the Cod and my wife, daughter and mother had the battered haddock and chips. Absolutely delicious and was the best plaice I’ve ever had. A great location by Portstewart beach was wonderful. Go. You won’t be disappointed.

User

As part of our company night away, we booked dinner and DJs at Harrys Shack. It was great from start to finish. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful and the DJs had us all dancing around the patio heater until the end! Donal even donated a voucher to help us raise funds for the charity we support, Action for Children and I'm not sure if you guys arranged the weather for us too but the sun came out as soon as we arrived and those views were just amazing! Thanks for helping us with taxis too. Can't wait to go back

User

We had a lovely meal on Easter Sunday, the staff were really nice and helpful for me, my wife and our 2 daughters, we had some lovely mussels to start and really nice fish dishes for main and the chocolate pot for dessert was delightful! Thanks

User

I had read poor reviews and was disappointed I found then to be true. The staff are lovely the venue is very cool(in more ways than one) but the food portions are simply too small. Nine chips along with a skinny bit of fish and an amount of mushy peas you might give to a baby . The pudding pot was again small and together the amount was just ok, after a day on the beach most people have a good appetite!. All a shame because the flavour was good, just not enough of it!! At the end of the experience you don't even feel like complaining the staff are so friendly!! However I won't try it again unless the reviews improve.

User

Staff and service far from satisfactory, when I asked for milk for my coffee, after standing at the counter for too long, I was handed a 2-litre carton and told to help myself. No trays,

Inadequate plates and paper cups.

Choice was v poor considering the local competition, the time of year, the weather etc etc.

Sadly, We will be in no hurry to go back.

User

We went today on a Wednesday at 2pm and basically got told to leave, said a table would be 20mins to come back.... first of all they didn’t ask how many there was in the party and secondly felt like they saw the pram and didn’t want us there! Instead of asking us how many there would be and then giving us a time and asking us if we wanted a drink to wait as there is not much else around the area to go and wait in!! Very disappointed since we where recommended the place.

User

We had both breakfast and lunch here over the weekend both was really disappointing. On arrival for breakfast a member of staff poured water over vomit as we walked towards the door and it ran over our flip flops , she saw us coming.

The breakfast bap was not a broiche bun , the black pudding was as hard as a rock and we were told that we could not have a poached egg only fried as the eggs were limited as they can’t cope with late nights and early mornings. I dnt like Fried eggs so I didn’t have one. We still thought after this we would still try the lunch we had booked for us on the Sunday.

The lunch was really disappointing The goats cheese was small look warm and over priced the scotched eggs were over cooked and dry small and over priced.

Three of us had fish and chips it was the worst fish and chips ever in our lives the chips were cold and the batter was thick and soggy like a wet soggy slice of white bread, the lady on the opposite table was having the same problem and the peas were a heaped tea spoonfull in a small dipping dish Really over priced

We all felt from the bad experience the staff were not friendly and not one of them looked as if they wanted to be there and no uniforms was not a professional look. Not once were we asked was our food ok nor was asked would we like another drink we did say to the waitress at the end and she didn’t seem to care either her response was I will let the chef know I’m very surprised as our fish and chips is very popular. NOT THAT DAY !!!!

We paid and left due to the unprofessional staff and the most horrible food.

Much better restaurants within the area.

User

We booked a table for 5pm and it was 6pm before our food arrived. Very poor selection and badly overpriced. One of our steaks was nice but the other was absolutely vile. We all tasted it and couldnt even swallow it. It was off and inedible. It was sent back and offered to be recooked but after waiting an hour already we felt easier to share the steak we could eat. We had two burgers and chicken goujons also which were really just ok and half a burger and 2 of the 3 goujons remained on the plates. The chips were lovely though, shame we only averaged about 8 each! Service was slow but staff were friendly enough...until we refused to pay for the fully uneaten steak, "should we not pay the farmer then"! Charming customer service. Unfortunately this was for our Mothers birthday and it was just beyond disappointing. We didn't even stay for desert or her birthday cake. Shame really.
