Each November, #WorldAntibioticAwarenessWeek aims to increase awareness of antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practice to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance. The persistent overuse and misuse of antibiotics has encouraged the emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance, which occurs when microbes, such as bacteria, become resistant to the drugs used to treat them. The two key themes this year we should all consider is: • Think twice. Seek Advice. • Misuse of Antibiotics puts us ALL at Risk.

Today is #WorldDiabetesDay. Did you know 1 in 2 people living with diabetes are currently undiagnosed? It’s not always easy to tell if you have diabetes as the symptoms can vary for each person, however the following signs are usually common in people with undiagnosed diabetes:
• Often very thirsty • Urinating more than usual... • Often very tired • Losing weight unexpectedly • Experiencing blurred vision • Prone to regular episodes of thrush or have genital itching • Noticing that your cuts or wounds heal slowly
Having some of the symptoms of diabetes doesn’t mean you definitely have the condition, but you should always contact your GP, just to make sure.
