Hillhead Fishery

Just to let u all know . Today the lake was stocked with 60+ brown trout .

Due to increasing costs in running our fishery we have had to look at our pricing . There has been no increases since we opened 9yrs ago and over that period we have absorbed all the price increases. I hope that you will all understand my reasoning.

What a mixture we had today, myself Lee Tomlinson and Matthew Laffin took the trip to Hillhead fishery today. My first fish came almost instantly on a black lure stripped fast enough that the fish created that awsome and exciting bow wave chase form the fish. The fishing was pretty steady for me but i think something i may have said put a scud on Lee 🤐 🤔😂. After a long while and a few moves between horrible turns in weather Lee finally beat the scud and started pulling fish i...n. Matt arrived slightly later and was having trouble turning nips and pulls into landed fish, but that didnt stop him with a few tactical changes the fish started coming. All of us starting to catch in a steady rate now. I was lucky enough to catch 2 stunning trout, one of them weighed 7lbs 14oz and the other unfortunately wasn't weighed, i also had the pleasure of landing my first brown trout of the year. Matt caught a stunning fish weighing 9lb 4oz, standing right beside me i got to see it all. Cast at full length and the strike looked as though it was in slow motion, straight away as it connected we just knew it was a better fish. It put up a great battle but this time Matt was victorious. First would like to wish all past and present customers a peaceful Christmas. We will be closed 25th & 26th . Reopened 27th . Opened all other days except Sundays. Lake stocked today for holidays.

After 8 years of trying Sean finally catches a tagged fish yesterday happy man . Lake is restocked and fishing well.

Great place to fish lovely staff love fishing there few big boys 2 tagged lost on love going down when I'm off work great place 2 get a we bit off time 2 yourself clear the head fish with some off the greatest Fisher men I'm still an ametur but I'm learning everyday

First visit today and we will be back. Lovely well kept fishery with hard fighting fish. Some great craic and banter with the regulars as well

Finally got to Hillhead today, great wee day, plenty of takes, hardly a bit of weed and a few decent chaps about for a yarn

Excellent fishery and some beautiful big fish getting caught at minute.

Brilliant fishery I've been going on and off for years now but have been back steady for past two months always made feel welcome and everyone that fishes it is 100% the craic is mighty last Saturday I caught my first tagged fish along with 27 other fish and yesterday my first monster 12lb hen I would recommend it to anyone get out and give it a throw folks

Been going to hillhead head now on and off for a few months. have to say really good place even if your just starting out, always someone to point you in the right direction be it staff or other anglers. And some top notch fish

Back fiahing after a few years break and as usual hillhead never failed to give an excellent day, 14 caught and many lost, great lake,cabin and friendly staff.

2nd year in a row visiting this peaceful fishing lake. Very friendly helpful staff and hope to visit every year on our annual trip to NI. Great affordable place for a family day out!
