Accept imperfections.
The family may argue, gifts may miss the mark, and the turkey could end up dry. It’s inevitable that some issues will arise; accepting that this is part of life is key to overcoming Christmas stress – and it’s good to keep them in perspective.

Ask for help.
Christmas anxiety can be easier to overcome when you don’t feel like you’re in it alone.
Try assigning some tasks to other family members. Write a 'to do' list with people's names next to each job.
... Delegation teaches everyone responsibility and it can help to reduce your sense of feeling overwhelmed.

Relax.
Don’t forget to relax over the festive period. As well as carving the turkey, how about carving out some time to chill out. This might look like taking a nice walk, or maybe it’s sitting down to watch a movie or Christmas Special on TV with friends or family.
As long as the activity allows us the opportunity to slow both our bodies and our minds down then it should help us to relax.

Slow down.
Christmas can become a bit fast paced. It’s important to do something to help slow things down and prevent stress levels from building up.
Take a relaxing bath, get good quality sleep, and when you make yourself that cup of tea, sit down and take the time to enjoy it.
