As my holidays are coming to an end I'm able to get back to printing, so I got this commission done today of a little cat 🐱 it's part of a piece with 3 cats which isn't finished but I thought I'd share it anyway ✨

🌸 hi 🌸 I'm super busy with commissions at the moment, even doing ones for Christmas how mad is that😬😁 just posting to say that I have a few holidays coming up so they may be a bit slow but I'll be back at it at a good pace in a few weeks☺️ x

🌸 This commission was a bit different as I decided to add a little body to the pug! I also got a chance to play around with colour and shadows a bit more, so that all prints can be customised to your liking 😊 x

🌸 I carried out a few of these prints just to play around with shading and highlighting, pretty pleased with how they turned out 😊

🌸 I've had a lot of people query the process of intaglio printing as not many people know what it involves or how it's different from any other drawing
✨The chosen image is actually etched into a Perspex plate with a sharp tool. I then take this to a printing studio to do the printing!
✨Using a cloth I would rub ink into the plate so that it fills the etched areas. I then use paper to polish off the ink from the surface, so that it only leaves the ink in the sunken areas.
... ✨Depending on the image, I can add shadows, highlight areas or add colour by playing about with the ink.
✨The plate is then put through a press with dampened paper, so that it absorbs the ink to provide the print. 🤗
It means that many different prints can be done in different colours and styles so that it sets itself aside from regular drawings!
