Three of us landed this afternoon without a booking (our fault), the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend the Ivan hoe, first class staff, food and prices.
Very nice hotel. Arrived early and needed to get ready for a wedding. Our room was still in use, but the lady working there (Joanne) kindly switched things around and sorted us out with a room so that we did not have to get ready in somebody else's. Very much appreciated!
Here for my brother's stag do. Now normally, for such an event, I would be happy as long as they provide toilet paper. This place is brilliant. We arrived at 9am and our room was ready to go as was the breakfast buffet. It was well tasty too. Can't wait for the same thing tomorrow to help drag me from hangover hell. Staff are excellent. Can't recommend this place enough
Went to the restaurant for dinner one evening - was very impressed with the decor - very clean and bright. Restaurant was busy which is a good sign and we were seated and had our order taken in good time. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food while good, didn't really different from other places I've been to. I'd go back though and try something else from the menu.
Lovely Food and a Great Selection of Ice Creams ! Atmosphere is pleasant and unhurried. The Waiting Staff are on par with Any Restaurant or 4/5 Star Hotel. You barely notice them, they're not Constantly asking "..is everything OK ?" And the nice young girl waiting on our table of 8, was unhurried enough to ask if 1 person wanted butter, another if they wanted a sauce and finished with asking if we wanted another drink order, or if we wanted wine or needed water for the table?
It's small touches that make any meal out more enjoyable and leaves everyone feeling better.
Price-wise it sits easily in the middle. If you expect to pay well for good food you will be happy here !
On the other hand, they have lovely Pasta Dishes, full of flavours and not at all expensive - like proper Italian Food should be ! I noticed that there's a "Shared Meal for 2" for £32. Thats a good idea and a great idea for couples and married people who have been together a while and don't mind sharing (I wouldn't use it for a 1st Date dinner - 21st Yes - 21st Anniversary - bring Divorce Papers !!)

The Ivanhoe Hotel is a lovely very nice stay for you and your family. It has a Restaurant and Bar plus Live Music most nights. The Rooms are in Great condition and they are clean. Complementary Refreshments and Biscuits are provided. If you pay for breakfast in the morning you get a Buffet. The food is lovely. My faults are when your doing a party they sometimes got food mixed up but you will still have a good night. The staff are very nice. You will defiantly enjoy your stay there. There is WiFi for guests it is good but it depends on what part of the hotel your in. Belfast is a 15min drive and they have McDonalds and other restaurants nearby. That's all enjoy your stay!!
Stayed here for a few nights for work, first night was terrible as I came back at roughly 1am to find no porter there but after phoning the hotel the porter was away from the phone. Got to my room and the radiator was not working and was like an ice block. Complained to reception in morning, they got a plumber to have a look at it and I was not optimistic about it as it was a small radiator for a fairly large room and I was not risking another cold night so I had to buy a portable blow heater. The heating still was not heating up so I used the heater and was warm all night but out of my own expense. So this is why I'm giving a poor review as I felt I was sleeping outside.
Mixed experience at the Ivan hoe we were given menus and initially taken care of today by a great guy who seemed to really know what he was doing however he was subsequently let down by two of his female colleagues who seemed to like nothing more than catching up at the pass. Platter for two was great and would recommend, however kids pasta was a real let down, over boiled and sauce not great. My daughter Literally are two pieces of the pasta and then shared the platter myself and my Father had ordered. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to complain until the end as we were not approached by staff during meal and it seemed difficult at times to get staff's attention throughout even though they did not appear stressed or busy at the time. When I complained about the pasta, I was asked did I get something else and when I replied no was then asked that I should have let them know earlier. I replied that honestly we didn't get a chance as no staff had came near us to check how our meal was. Waitress appeared annoyed and was coming across as rude. I noticed across the way that a lady had to ask for hot water twice as her coffee was cold. Also her meal was given to her in a brisk manner and was told to enjoy her meal while the waitress was walking away from her and had actually turned away from her while she was still telling her to enjoy her meal which made it seem half hearted. Also where we sitting was cold and my daughter had to keep her coat on throughout. My Dad said he would go back for the platter but I Wont be back in a rush for the service!
