The calm before the storm as an ominous thundercloud approaches the coast; the air is still and a momentary silences befalls the landscape before the deluge begins.

It feels as though I've spent the last month climbing through rivers and ravines in search of autumn; sleep deprived and suffering from cold fingers and numb toes. All of that becomes worth it when you stumble across a gorgeous little waterfall off the beaten path and hidden from view.
