We've had an entertaining couple of weeks with Buddy, but back to the North Pole he goes. We'd like to thank all our customers and staff for their continued support and hard work over the year and would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Finished this week, 12ft Adjustable Cattle Slat Mould. This mould is designed to produce various lengths of cattle slat which range from 12ft to 8ft in 6inch increments.

Not quite Santa's Sleigh but Buddy helped pack up the Lorry for the last few deliveries of 2018 🚛🎅🏼🎄

When we moved to our new site in Lambeg we took delivery of our third laser, a Trumpf TruLaser 5040 Fibre Laser with an 8kW source ☺️ We're currently hiring for immediate start laser operatives, our temporary employee only has two shifts left before he heads back to the North Pole! 🎅🏼🎄

Back to work for wee Buddy 😊 He had a busy day helping out on our milling machine, part of our CNC Machine Shop! Buddy's been inspecting moulds 🧐 Earlier in the week Buddy was in visiting the fabricators while they finished off a Karablock Mould for CWP Concrete. The mould was then inspected and painted and is now ready for dispatch 🎅🏼🎄

Buddy's been observing parts being folded on one of our press brakes 👀 We can fold a wide range of material types, thicknesses and batch sizes. We also have an extensive tooling library which ensures that our operators have the correct tooling available for each fold job 🤓 🎅🏼🎄

Beep Beep 🚦 Buddy got some new wheels! After completing the forklift training the wee mans ready to join the sub-contact dispatch team! 🎅🏼🎄

⚠️ Elf and Safety in Progress ⚠️ It's been a hard morning in Elf and Safety but Buddy is now fully prepared for life at KME Steelworks! 🎅🏼🎄

Our newest recruit has finally made it to our new site, Santa didn't get the memo that KME has moved to Tullynacross Road! Only 18 days for Buddy the elf to get everyone on the nice list 🎅🏼🎄

We felt that it would be interesting to team up with one of our main precast concrete customers to follow a mould project from start to finish 😊 and here it is, the first of our Mould Journey Videos with Moore Concrete and the Fairhaven to Church Scar Coastal Protection Project 🌊

Moore Concrete placed an order with KME for a total of twelve “Top, Standard & Toe" Panel Moulds which we designed with hinged sides for safe ...and easy product removal. These also had to be robust as 3300 panels were needed for the project. The moulds averaged 4500mm x 2500mm in size and weighed 3.5 tonnes. Each mould required over 150 individual hits on a press brake to form the unique profile of the sides. All twelve moulds were completed within 8 weeks of starting fabrication with first batch of the finished concrete panels dispatched for installation May 2018.
