Just incase anyone missed this beautiful footage from 1957 about handweaving in Donegal. I woke up to it shared by a friend in New Zealand (Fiona of #TinShedYarns). It's on the forgotten Ireland page, yesterday it got over 8000 views and near 200 shares. Lovely to see the interest in our textile #Artofweaving #handwoven #Donegaltweed1957

Isn't this something to look up too. A fabulous brioche shawl in a great orange. For us it's into Derry City for Sunday opening as its Maritime Fest for 9 days ahead. Looking forward to welcoming folks and finishing our Milwaukee pattern notes in downtime ūüíö

Missed the sheep until the cows got so interested in the knitting, curious cows they are.

Have you been picking up the momentum around this? Gotta say we were a bit confused by various #Insta posts. So here is a great podcast by Nadia at #TheCottageNotebook with the Countess Ablaze herself. Listen to how one woman took anger at being taken for granted and down right insulted into a World movement for good business and transparent charity. Besides it's hilarious, as pure honesty often is. Then check over on the Countess Ablaze blog to see the Tits launched at Noon today, it's impressive and a delicious feast...

Before yarn stores became our candy stores....? Caught this passing a door yesterday in Donegal, by the beach, with blasters, nerds and all, it's hard to decide!

Many of you will remember these views from your Knitting Tour to Ireland. Normally I'm off West but yesterday it was East along the Causeway Coast and does it melt the eyes.... But not the wool

Don't let the word Free be the motivating factor to visit my creative cyber cousins blog! Fiona MacBride in NZ not only has a run on her pattern downloads this week, but a few beautifully written articles. I can so recommend reading 'pricing your work', this and others ring so true, so factual and voiced with valued experience and emotion. In fact, this young English girl knitting image gave me quite the chill, as I noted the same image earlier this week in a book on knitte...d Cornish frocks! Now off to check out some Tin Shed Yarn too.... (keep writing Fiona, I am Hooked, Edel) Laughed at that knitting machine story... Wish I were closer by!

Our Sliabh Liag got friends called Jaded and Steam punk. Got to have a little #dyecandy fix now and then. Talk to us for some combos of Yak and Silk and merino teamwork.

From our first label MACBRIDE the coloured cables sweater in William Ross Ulster linen was a flyer. Delighted to be gifted this piece for the archive in great condition, while signs of plenty wear and a few wee unplanned openings. We were moss and cable crazy then too.

'Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into, are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing' Making with visitors from Canada and the USA had us and the wool glowing too. Not to mention the travelling bears. Aran Aran Aran and some. Do you call it the feather, the fern, the link or the rabbits ears??? ... Not in Alberta we learnedūüźŹūü§ĒūüźŹūüźįūüźŹ Next up is the new Galway to Donegal 7 night knitters, which ends at the wonderful Tullamore Dew distillery. Just finished the sample one piece Aran waterfall vest that a pattern is promised for! Shaping armholes has left my pattern 2 rows off...do you spot it? 4 rows out would be easier corrected (2 per armhole). Still it is fabulous in the momer (mohair merino) on 4.5mm. Will work in any yarn.

Thank you Nadia of #CottageNotebook and #Woollinn for valuing our story and notions! Delighted to listen back to the #yarninIreland discussion from 4 home grown perspectives.

What an awesome store and people who run it. Even though I am from the US they have answered my questions, helped with selections and are the nicest people on this earth. Only downfall is I wished I lived closer

Edel, I thoroughly enjoyed your knit and crochet classes at Milwaukee Wisconsin USA Irish School 2017. I can't wait until you return.

Crafting can sometimes be lonely and the County we live in Ireland - Co. Donegal it is a big County spread out and some parts very rural. Knitfield is a community and I have met so many really nice people. I am alway made feel welcome and have got to know Edel and her friends through attending classes. Inspiration is definitely what you get plus the benefit of Edel's long standing experience. Highly rated. Karon (Craft Holidays in Tuscany).
