Lagan Valley Leisureplex

About Lagan Valley Leisureplex

The Lagan Valley LeisurePlex has established itself as one of the most popular leisure destinations in Northern Ireland. There are a variety of activities on offer at the facility which make it one of the most unique local authority leisure facilities.

Lagan Valley Leisureplex Description

Leisure Pool /Competition Pool
Lagan Valley LeisurePlex boasts one of the biggest pools of its kind in Northern Ireland and is renowned for having some of the fastest, longest and wettest water rides in Ireland.

In the competition pool, swimming lessons are ongoing for different age groups as well as water polo, competitive swimming and events.

3G Football Factory
The pitches offer state-of-the art artificial grass fibres suitable for all-year outdoor football and the facility can accommodate 5-a-side and 7-a-side football. This facility can also be used for other sports including tag rugby and Gaelic football. The project took six months in total to complete and cost Lisburn City Council £1 million to build.

Vitality Health and Fitness /Fitness Classes
Gym membership in the LeisurePlex includes full use of the health, competition pool and fitness suite as well as the classes on offer. Our Health and Fitness Officers are at hand to find out what each gym member wants to achieve, and meet these goals through personal fitness programs. Health checks can also be taken and progress in personal programs can be monitored every few weeks.

Lagan Valley LeisurePlex was awarded Customer Service Excellence (CSE) accreditation in 2013 and 2014.

We went to the the Halloween pool party last night and we had a great time..... my 2 year old son has ear issues and had an operation only a few weeks ago and can't get water near his ears I forgot his head band but the main receptionist couldn't have been more nicer or helpful she give me a few suggestions of stuff and finally we found something that worked for him and allowed us to go swimming he had a brillant time..... it makes such a difference to find someone who is just sooo nice we will 100% continue to come back soo thank you soo much to her unforuntly I don't no her name xxx

User

We had booked for the 12.40 session today everything went great when we went in we got seen straight away but on the way out at 2 the place was really crazy so I would advise people to book if you are going in the afternoon. My 3 year old son had a ball he loves the water and enjoyed the lazy river, kids area and us the big kids enjoyed the slides. Great day!

User

Took our son yesterday as part of a birthday day out with his 3 friends and his brother. My husband, I and the 5 boys had a great time in the slides and the lazy river. It's a great set up and between the bowling, cinema and food outlets, quite easily spend a full day here. Only negative, and it is a small one, was that having booked online, which albeit guaranteed our admission, the online queue at the reception was closed so we had to queue alongside walk ins which meant we only just made it in to the pool in time for our session. Fantastic day out and would recommend it!

User

Such a fun place to bring children of all ages, it was my little girl Sophia first time and she just had a ball, me and my boys love all the slides, but r favourite thing of all, is the slow river, 'brilliant' family fun day out, can't wait for r next time

User

My girls love going to this place. We've been twice now and have yet to be disappointed. Only issue I had the 2nd time we went was the one slide was not working but there was still more than enough to keep me and my 8 & 6 year olds happy.

User

Booked online for my sons birthday treat! Unfortunately we got held up in traffic and were going to miss our slot! We rang and luckily for us there was a slot available an hour later so we got it changed easy enough! The pool itself is brilliant! Definitely more for the younger ones now too!

User

Absolutely amazed at the helpfulness if staff today lost a piece of sentimental jewellery... so thankful and all the kids old and young had a ball highly recommend for family day out and recommend booking online no queues and timed sessions

User

So this was our first visit today and we really enjoyed it. Yes it was really busy but it was a wet summer holiday day so we expected that. Water was nice and warm. Bit cool standing waiting at the kiddies bit but we just sat down in the water and this was warmer. There were a number of fairly rowdy late teens early 20's at the pool. I felt sometimes they should have been brought under control but I guess they were just having fun. There were plenty of staff about and all paying attention well. We will be back

User

Went yesterday with my 5 and 2 year old. Was tough trying to keep them safe as there were a lot of boisterous teen boys flying about and never saw any life guards asking them to calm down. The air temperature was freezing so had to take my younger child out to get dressed after half an hour as she was chittering with the cold. Is annoying in the play part as you cant get any respite from water spraying in your face. I had to huddle with my 2 yr old under a slide to get away from the spraying! Can see its a great place for older kids but will leave it a few years before I go back.

User

Went yesterday (10am-11am) with my husband and 1 and a half year old. The kids part was good but my daughter was shivering and I was freezing so we couldn't even stay in it. Could really do with having it warm as you are not submerged in the water so you are really cold standing around. I like the idea of the kids part but for a one year old getting a massive bucket of water dunked on you with no warning is rather scary. Thankfully she is good in the water. Maybe a baby pool or part with less things shooting water at you. We ended up spending most of the time in the lazy river, but was quite crowded and we kept bumping into people or vice versa. Again we were all freezing. Half the showers weren't working and the toilets were not that easy to find. It is good a little pricy at that time of the morning to sit in a lazy river for 1 hour freezing. Would be better if you could also use the pools at no extra cost. Staff on the desk were lovely but the Ones at the pool had faces like a slapped bum and were quite grumpy and shouty at the children. Think they need more training in working with people and children!!

User

Went with grandchildren and daughter. I have poor eyesight so i always wear my glasses but found it near impossible to see due to the fact there were water jets spraying me no matter where i went. Hated it. Even in toddler area water constantly spraying . Not very child friendly. Wont be back

User

Turned away with 5 very unhappy children due to not having booked and being too busy. I understand there are pool bather loads however nowhere on the website or Facebook mentioned or made public aware that the pool could not take anymore customers. The woman at the desk was also not very pleasant. After travelling a brave distance with a bunch of kids, very disappointing experience.

User

Totally unimpressed this morning with the competition pool, myself partner and 2 children were there from 11:30 to 12:30 and would have stayed longer only the main pool was that cold my youngest was shivering in the pool as it was ridiculously cold. Not only was it freezing over half the pool was takin up with lanes 3 for just doing lengths and one wider for private lessons. We prefer going on the morning as it's quieter & are youngest has ASD. The smaller pool (diving) pool was not an option as there was a baby swimming lesson then babys/toddlers in it. My children love swimming & we equally love teaching then having been there a week previously we had high expectations. Totally disappointed today. Unfortunately speaking to a member of staff was not possible today because it was incredibly busy then at the main reception a manager was telling a family they couldn't gain energy as it has to be 1 parent per child! Looked like very disappointed children.

User

I came out feeling like I’d been water boarded for an hour and a half, why on earth would you have so many jets of water in an area for small children at knee height is beyond me?! There’s nowhere to hide from it, nowhere to sit quietly just an onslaught of rubber rings in your head and chlorine water in your eyes!!

User

Tried to book a party for the wee one (age 2) told was too early they can only book a month in advance. So came back today at 9.00am and was told they were fully booked!?!? So asked for the next day to be told to come back tomoro but there's already people interested so probably won't get it. Useless service and staff! Another reason to avoid this so called 'city' of lisburn.

User

Rang the reception today to asked for session times & was spoke to very unprofessional & told session times were every 20 minutes & come on ahead .

As traveling from a distance I wanted to make sure we weren't waiting around , until arriving & to be told we had a 2 hour wait .. fair enough if I hadn't already rang the hour before hand . To which I spoke to management who was also very unprofessional & looked like he couldn't be bothered ! Staff training is a must here if anything..

wasted my time & disappointed children ...

User

My husband with our 2 kids went to the pool as he does occasionally but was turned away because he didn't have another adult with him he was shocked as he has went a few time with just himself and the 2 boys and was never turned away. I no rules and all but why let him in them other times and not let him in today. My kids where so upset. The girl at reception was very rude to my husband. We will never be back and I will be telling other people about my experience.

User

Just been refused entry with my 2 kids a 7 year old and a 2 year old absolute descrace the fact that you drive all the way from Belfast to be told I can't go in the kids part because of their rule which they choose to enforce when they like it as I have been at the pool before with three kids and I also had my 2 kids at Bangor a couple of weeks ago and there was no problem ? And then having to explain to my daughter that they weren't letting us in when she is already excited seeing the slides and the water . Use are a joke of a leisure centre stop trying to turn a kids pool into some sort of regime I take it use want the extra adult so use can get the extra money of them !!! And also for the 3 lady's at reception your attitude stinks I don't find a 2 year old girl getting refused entry to a pool funny in any way!

User

Drove all the way to have to turn back, friends had booked for 11.20 and had asked if we wanted to tag along so after getting my 10 year old and 2/1.2 year old ready and excitement flying we headed ti the pool, after driving about trying to get a mother and toddler space there was none so had to park in a normal small one and squeeze my child out of his carseat and out of the car to then get to reception to find out tgere were no more places on my friends session and that the next free on was not for 2 hrs, recepion said that unless you book on line then youve no hope of getting a session, ĺ personaly feel thats its discrimination against cash payers, sorry but will be taking my cash else were in future as this hasnt been the first attempt to access your pool to just go home again with 2 very dissapointed children.

Looked like very disappointed children.
