My name is Lara, I am a Humanist Celebrant in Northern Ireland. I am accredited by Humanists UK and Northern Ireland Humanists.
My job as a celebrant is to help you create your ceremony. A Humanist ceremony is about the couple, their family and the people they choose to share their big day with. It's very personal, you get to pick how you celebrate your day from the theme to the music and readings.
You might like the traditional style of a wedding, formal, intimate, romantic. . .
You may have been brought together by a love of walking or a football team or perhaps you're both a couple of Star Trek geeks and what you really, really want for your wedding is to be married on the Bridge of the Enterprise. However, you want to tell your story, I can help you give it shape and form and reflect you both as a couple. You want your friends and family to recognise your relationship in the wedding or, you may want to show them a side of you they never knew!
You may be having your wedding in a Manor House or gardens, alternatively, you may be looking to have your wedding on a beach or in a forest.
Either way, *any* way my job, is to help you create that ceremony. To understand what you want, and make it happen and to help you as a couple marry each other in a way that has meaning to you and those who know and love you.
