Larne Music Festival Description

Larne Music Festival Association was founded in 1925 by a group of musicians whose enthusiasm left a strong foundation on which we can build today. After falling by the way-side in the 1950s, the festival was revived in 1999 and has grown every year since then. We hope that, as a committee, we can call on the support of all music lovers, and we would urge all teachers of music, Schools, Choirs, soloists and musicians to enter the Festival and ensured that it will continue to be a success for many years to come.

There's still time to become a Friend of Larne Music Festival and get an invitation to our Pre-Festival Reception. (and support your local festival!)

Larne Music Festival depends solely on funding from entry fees, door receipts and donations and receives no grants from the council or anywhere else. Unfortunately this income only covers about half the cost of running the festival.
... Several years ago the Friends of the Festival Scheme was launched and these donations help us run the festival each year. All we ask for is a donation of £10 (or more!) per person. In return for becoming a Friend of the Festival you get your name listed in our programme and an invitation to our Pre-Festival Reception in the Town Hall. For more information and to join the scheme please see our website. Thank you.

Just 10 years ago Larne Music Festival was a one-day festival run by a small committee of volunteers. Due to its fantastic success, we've now expanded to a four-day festival but we still have a small committee. We need more people to join us and help with the running of the festival. You only need to be able to help out at a session or two during the festival days and come to a couple of (short!) meetings during the year. If you would like to join us please PM us to ensure the festival can continue to thrive. Thanks 🎵🎶🎙️🎹🎺🎻🎤🎸

Larne Music Festival AGM will take place on Monday 7 October at 8:15 p.m. in the Curran Court Hotel. The planning for the 2020 festival will start immediately after the AGM, and we need to find some more people who would like to be involved in running the festival. Come along and find out more about what happens ‘behind the scenes’ and see how you can contribute.

Larne Music Festival 2019 is officially over! It has been our biggest festival with hundreds of competitors over the 4 days. Each year we continue to grow thanks to the huge amount of local talent and those coming from further afield. The adjudicators were massively impressed by the high quality of performers this year. 'We blow other festivals out of the water' was one comment from an adjudicator. Thank you to everyone who competed, our fantastic adjudicators who offered gr...eat encouragement, all the hard working teachers, parents and family members and everyone else who supported us with their time and donations. Thanks also to First Larne for the excellent facilities and to Larne Food Bank for providing some much needed refreshments at the festival. The festival concluded with a fantastic Gala Concert showcasing the high quality of our local musical talent and raising £375 for Larne Food Bank. Now it's time to start planning Larne Music Festival 2020!!!!!
