Larne Ymca Youth Club

Wonderful Wednesday night at youth club with lots of music, dancing, basketball, tennis, badminton, games, shop trips and more!
We also had another session of our LCCL with Peaceplayers coaches looking at shooting techniques and diversity along with a game of scramble, cone shooting and so much more. Great to see some new faces tonight 😀

TONIGHT! 6.30-8.30pm (with option of staying on for youth club), 50p in. Spaces available for members and non members alike 🙂

Really good Tuesday night tonight with almost 60 young people in enjoying basketball 🏀 , making soda bread pizzas, last man, shop trip, free time, pool, conversations and some singalong to music on front!
Really good behaviour and fun tonight from the young people. Unfortunately some young people not part of youth club were gathering outside and tried to ruin some outside activities for others. We’d emphasise the importance of parents knowing where your young people are and will be following up appropriately as people not a part of youth club shouldn’t be on youth club property.
Roll on Peaceplayers LCCL basketball tomorrow night for juniors and seniors. We still have some spaces 😀👍

Here’s a run down of what’s on in YMCA this week 😀
Tuesday night- Senior youth club with soda bread pizza cooking 🥘, art, football ⚽️, chilled out conversation time, table tennis competition, badminton and more 😁
Wednesday night- ... Amazing Peaceplayers LCCL Programme this Wednesday 6.30-8.30pm. The participants will be learning some new basketball skills as well as participating in team building and community relations' activities. P7+ Youth club also on with last man, football, art projects and loads more
Thursday night- P3 to 1st year youth club activities will be on with art, games, football ⚽️, limbo, cooking 🥘, tag rugby and loads more
Friday night- P4 to 3rd year youth club will be on with loads of activities planned by our helper team including football ⚽️, handball, cooking 🥘, team games and loads of fun 😁😁
Sunday - GR8 session for those signed up in YMCA 1.30pm-4pm with lots of amazing activities, games, teambuilding and discussions.
Our next sign up night will be on Monday 18/3/2019 from 6pm to 7pm. We would encourage all parents to come along to this evening to fill out your young person’s membership forms!

Week 3 of twinnings kicked off with a bang today! So much excitement, team chants and cheers, sportsmanship, learning and fun going on today with the Moyle and Linn P7 classes. 🙌
Our theme today was respect and how to show respect to other people including teammates, opponents and coaches, making a respect wall. We focused on dribbling and shooting in a game called scramble and played MJ says to help us with our defence techniques. 🏀

Rare February sunshine for our GR8 trip to Stormont on Thursday! Big thanks to Stewart Dickson MLA for a very insightful and interesting tour.
Lots of good conversations on whether power sharing actually works, why people vote the way they do and our current political stalemate as well as lots of laughs and reminiscing of past residentials on the bus up, down and during our stop to McDonald’s on the way home. Definitely a worthwhile programme for getting Young People talking... about current issues, making us all more open minded and mixing with people we wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to! 😀👍
Next part of GR (our Teambuilding and Community Relations session) takes place next weekend - Sunday 3rd March at YMCA 1.30-4pm.

Busy night at youth club tonight, over 115 young people in tonight
Tonight we had shortbread making in cooking, Easter 🐣 hamper making in art, basketball 🏀, football ⚽️, shop trip and more
Tonight we also celebrated a couple of birthdays 🎂!!! Which only meant one thing: cake 🎂 for everyone 😁😁

Action packed programme today/tonight at youth club...
Firstly our GR8 peer leaders/mentors and young people headed off to be guest of Stewart Dickson MLA at Stormont and to get a guide tour around our government building. Thank you to Stewart for hosting us... the young people really enjoyed it!!
Back at youth club tonight we had top hat 🎩 making cooking 🥘, painting 🖼 picture in art, basketball 🏀, shop trips and more 😌😌
... It was also great to see some old members visiting youth club tonight and also some young people from our twinning programme joining youth club. All fantastic to see 😌😌

What a great night tonight in youth club with more than 50 people in club! Lots happening tonight including badminton, football, card games and shop trip. We also had a group at Todds Leap Activity Centre who enjoyed all the activities on offer! 😊

Bit of a video from the GR7 (funded by TEO) Weekend at Share Discovery Village! Lots of fun had by everyone😊 The dance at the end was put together and performed on the Saturday night by our fabulous young people/choreographers🤣 Roll on GR8😊

Youth club is open as normal over the half term break and after a fantastic weekend away in GR7 we hope to see loads of young people in this week!!!
Tonight we also held the first of our two membership sign up evenings. Thanks to all the parents that turned up tonight it was great to talk you through our slightly changed forms, talk about future youth club plans and fees and to answer all your questions.
