Snow! As you reach for your favourite leather coat from the wardrobe, you remember, the broken button, or tear in the leather, or a seam undone, or a torn cuff, or a broken zip. These things are no problem for our leather tailor, so hurry in and we will repair, so you may wear again. There is nothing quite like leather! Going away to avoid the snow? Check your holdalls, rucksacks and luggage are fit to travel, we can repair these for you too.

Always sad to visit Country estates or museums and see examples of vintage Leathergoods, and things made from leather in a poor state. Leather will stay useful if cared for, leather that has worn, can be replaced like for like

The cleaned and treated leather seat, with repair to tear on side barely visible.

Lots of handless cases, and zips to be replaced. A few leather sandals with missing straps, pre holiday business folk leaving their work cases for new locks, and forward planners getting fireside bellows ready in time for colder days.

Interesting item of the week - emboss in gold leaf, a list of past presidents, each year, to a record of minutes of a local association.

Soon no one will be able to repair luggage and leather goods thanks to Tony Blair and David Cameron, closing down all the colleges for people with different kinds of learning styles.

Received a tiny photo frame, with a polished metal front and a turquoise stone, and a leather basket weave back with support hinge, in poor condition. Richard, smiled when he saw it, and said he used to make lots of them for the Queen Mother, who, wherever she went, would place all her favourite photos, in their frames, on top of every shelf, table and desk. He said, it was a different era then. I left it to him to restore to as near best as possible.

Nice bit of embossing of gold letters onto a very grand looking A4 folder. 150 characters. The trouble is that newsletter type layout is different from embosser's layout. The letters of a particular size have to fit in the space allocated in a balanced way, so the end result looks attractive. This job will not be easy. Each letter is individually hand applied in a technique which harks back more to the 19th century, than the 21st.
Our thanks of course to successive governments who have phased out training courses for these ancient skills, meaning that once our craftsmen fully retire there will be no others capable of doing this work.
Make use of us while we are still enjoying our work!

Trunk in need of tlc. But owner does not want to spend too much on it as intends to use it for storeage. We have made new leather straps where necessary, but not all of them. The leather is almost beyond point of no return. I will show the final look later.

A reminder to those with gun cases cartridge boxes etc now we are out of season, bring these in for cleaning and refurb, and alterations, maybe that shoulder strap does not suit you, or your cartridge bag was hard to pick out of the pile later at the after shoot, perhaps the additions of embossed initials would be a good idea.
