Safety Message:
We are concerned that a number of pupils on a daily basis continue to cross the main road before and after school.
Our instruction to pupils for their safety is to use the underpasses both in the morning and afternoon. Given the volume of traffic on the roads and the speed of some cars, combined with the sometimes careless way young people cross the road is a potential recipe for disaster.
... We will continue to reinforce this safety instruction in school at assemblies and in Form Class.
Your support as parents in reinforcing this important message at home with your son/daughter is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Mrs F Kane, Principal

Year 9 Girls and Fourteen Year 10 Girls:
Year 9 girls and Fourteen Year 10 girls will be given their HP vaccinations on Monday 8th October.
The school nurses have asked that in order to "make the procedure more dignified for the girls, they should wear either a short sleeve white blouse or a tee shirt under their blouses".
... Hopefully, all of the girls, who will be receiving vaccinations will remember to make these small changes to their uniform, next Monday morning.

Year 10 Students Visit Brownlow House :
On Monday 1st October, 10.62 attended Brownlow House as part of a cross-curricular poetry competition marking the centenary of World War 1.
This fantastic venture is organised by Craigavon Museum Services to really stimulate awareness and interest in the local legacy of the war.
... There was an initial “Introduction to Poetry,” workshop led by local writer Martelle McPartland, followed by a hugely emotive and stimulating WW1 presentation by David Martin (manager of Brownlow House) where pupils were made painfully aware of the horrors and brutality that beset children not much older than themselves, 100 years ago.
The class then had the pleasure of an interactive tour of the basement museum- even having the opportunity to handle replica firearms and try on replica uniforms. David even gave us an impromptu tour of the grounds as we waited for our bus!
Pupils were enthralled from start to finish and a massive thanks must go to David, Martelle and Craigavon Museum Services.
