Mini soccer will be INDOOR this morning at Meadowbank Sports Arena

ŌÜĮCATHCARTS CENTRA MINI SOCCER ŌÜĮ
Our popular mini soccer program, which has been going now for over 10 years and where majority of our youth teams and players started at, continues on Saturday, 10-11am, and will now be OUTDOOR on the 3G pitch @ Meadowbank Sports Arena (When enter main reception, turn right, go to bottom of corridor and out the door, take left and go up the steps to the 3G pitch)
This is open for all children, boys and girls, from 2014 to primary school! This i...s a great way to ease the kids into a football team environment, learning the basic skills, keeping them active as well as having fun!

As playing outdoor, boots and trainers can be worn but everyone must wear shin guards and it is advisable to bring your own water bottle!
In the event of bad weather, we have indoor booked as well, please bring appropriate footwear to prepare for both.

Saturday saw us host our Cathcart's Centra 2012 Development tournament which was held indoor at Meadowbank Sports Arena
A great mornings football, with 16 teams in attendance, some great football played, some great goals and celebrations from some future super stars!
... ­¤ÅģAs well as all the players on the day getting a medal, the team winners on the day were as follows:
­¤Åå Blue Cup - Carniny ­¤Åå Blue Plate - Magherafelt Sky Blues Youths/Colts ­¤Åå Green Cup - Star Dynamo's ­¤Åå Green Plate - Newtowne Colts
Thanks to all the teams, coaches, parents and supporters for coming along and making it a great mornings football, as well to our own coaches and volunteers for organising this tournament. Thanks must also go to Meadowbank Sports Arena for their great facilities and assistance from staff.

­¤ōģ Sunday 9th June
ŌÜĮ’ĖÅ Magherafelt Sky Blues 5-4 Ballymena Town FC
... Goalscorers - Ciaran Monaghan x 2, Geoff Booth, Mark McMenemy, Sean Young
Our over 35's finished their season up with a fine 5-4 win over a very experienced Ballymena Town F.C Over 35s, who had a team littered with players with Irish League experience as well as playing for some teams across the water.
A slick first half performance saw the Blues go 4-0 up after 50 minutes, but credit to a great Ballymena side, they clawed it back to level it at 4-4, only for the Blues to grab the winner with a few minutes to go.
Thanks to Ballymena for making the journey and a great game, Declan for officiating and everyone who donated to our charity fund, Charis Cancer Care!
The over 35's now take a well deserved break over the summer and will resume again in August!

Few points to note for those attending:
­¤ōī Registration opens at 9am, ready for first game at 9.15am ­¤ōī Due to anticipated crowd, please park appropriately in car park at Meadowbank. ­¤ōī Enter via main reception, take left and at bottom or corridor take right and walk all way down to bottom. ­¤ōī There is seating at an elevated level around the pitches for spectators in the arena, please keep aisles clear during the tournament for teams entering and exiting the mini pitches. ­¤ōī There will also be numerous litter bins around the arena, please use these and respect the facilities we are using ­¤ōī Please respect our club volunteers and centre staff and any instructions given on the day

In partnership with a local coach who is keen to get girls football started in the local area, there is now training for girls aged 10-14, every Thursday night, 6-7pm at Meadowbank Sports Arena, starting tonight!
... ­¤ōå Thursday Nights ŌÅ░ 6-7pm ­¤ōī Meadowbank 3G
This is part of a 6 week programme, and at the end will combine with another local training programme which will hopefully progress into the formation of a dedicated team for this age group in the local area.

Our Over 35's are continuing their season with a home game against Ballymena Town F.C Over 35s on Sunday at Meadowbank 3G.
Both sides have already played each other late last year, which was a tight contest with some great goals, hopefully will see more of the same this Sunday.

On Saturday evening, we held our senior and reserve awards night in LJ's Tavern after our Old Boys game earlier that afternoon.

Well done to our mini soccer coach (and former player and manager) Seamus Quinn, who last weekend represented Northern Ireland at the Four Nations Veterans International Tournament.
On Friday they took on Wales and won 1-0, then on Saturday drew 0-0 with England to set up a winner takes all tie on Sunday against hosts Scotland and won 2-0!
Well done to Seamy and all the team, great achievement for all involved!
