Maguire Strand Camping & Caravan Park

A beautiful location spoilt by the owners! On arrival we were met by the owner and almost the first thing out of his mouth was all about the camp rules! How we had to be quiet after 11 o'clock because of regulars etc etc! I'm a 41 year old man with my wife, my friend and his wife. We were told the price on booking then were charged extra for people inside our caravans, including our other friends caravans who had children! The women in our party went down to the main office to book and was met by a very pleasant wife (owner) at reception who instantly became almost aggressive in her attitude again enforcing the rules of the site etc! I was beginning to consider going to golden sands in Benone and commuting to the Lamas fair. It felt like we were staying at colditz! Won't be back. We asked when booking if we could do a late booking out as we were at the lamas fair for the two days, we were told to mention it on arrival, when we did we were told no because the caravan park was fully booked, on checking this today the park was almost empty! I accidentally left with an aerial lead which was loaned to us by the owners of the site, I had to leave early to get through the town to do a school run. The owners proceeded to blame one of my friends for stealing the lead for his caravan (although he owned his own white one). I will be posting the lead back first thing tomorrow with a letter of complaint. I honestly think we were judged when we pulled up into the site. The female owner gave her phone number to one of the regulars saying if they get noisey ring me straight away!! We travel as a group and indeed we were in Dublin a few weeks ago in an amazingly friendly camp site, we are regulars to the golden sands site in benone, and I am a paid member of the caravan club, we as a group know the rules on sites and caravan etiquette! We are not a bunch of drinking thugs out to make noise and destroy people's peace. A very big let down, I will also put a review in the caravan and camping club!

Posizione incantevole, proprietari gentilissimi, struttura buona anche se i bagni sono pochi. Meglio prenotare, c'è sempre grande affluenza e i posti sono pochi.

Tolle Lage direkt am Meer. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und kann viele Tipps geben, was man in der Gegend unternehmen kann. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Great site in a stunning location looking across toward Rathlin Island. Very clean and well maintained.
