User

excellent when they have rave's on. Big DJ's like Murdock and the energy 106 DJ's good security and everything

User

Went to the carnival of light and I didn't know what to expect but what a fantastic show! Dj was a real crowd pleaser, great music. Performers were class, bar service was quick, even the bouncers were chill as fuck! The crowd was the cherry on top, all ages seen enjoying themselves. First time at Mandela Hall and it won't be my last.

Thank you.

User

Our first visit last night so see Trucker and Thunder... well impressed. A well run venue.. great to get close to the bands... the place ticked all the boxes.. we'll be back ....

User

OMD fantastic came over from London had a great night security great venue brilliant shame it was over 34 degeeses in there but did not spoil the gig

Met some great people and nice to get change from buying two pints (lucky students)

User

Nice to go to a smaller venue for a more intimate gig. More of an up close and personal experience with the band. Staff very friendly and not having to wait long at the bars. Definitely recommend this venue for a concert.

User

Love this venue, you actually get to see the bands as well as hear them. We were at the Thunder gig and was a fantastic night, staff all great as usual and no problems getting served at the bars. I hope you can get Thunder back next time they tour but in the meantime can you set your sights on getting Extreme over, thanks.

User

Legendary local gig venue, much beloved by generations Belfast music fans. Very simply, the Mandela Hall the best place to see live music in Northern Ireland- intimate without being cramped, with a great sound system and acoustics. Some of the best nights of my life have been spent there <3

User

Fantastic. Not a bad word to say. If a foam party is on here drink up before foam starts because after that no time to drink unless sitting at side. Foam party is the best most enjoyable night here. Love this place.

User

Great hall, festival of the dead was a blast,no food though so a five hour gig is long without something to eat, as for the no return policy if u walk out the front door and the cheeky , disrespectful security pretty bad and resulted in alot of ppl missing the end including ourselves, give out wristbands so ppl can come n go and change the security . 5 stars for fatsoma though , always a great performance from them .

User

Folks, I was at the OMD gig last night and the heat was at silly levels... Stewards handing out water at the front is a sign that all is not good. You don't seem to respond to reviews here, which is your right, but I hope you take the feedback seriously.

User

Ok, only for having Gavin James who was amazing, lots of loud chatty students though..........very very annoying. Fabvenue, fabgavinjames, fabsound, shame about the chatty chatty girls at the back and the really awful drink (splash coke? Really??)!!

User

Came to see Motionless In White. The balcony wasn’t open and as it was a 14+ gig the bar within the gig area was closed. Given a wristband to access the bar opposite the merch table but you weren’t allowed to bring your drink into the gig area..(why??)

I don’t understand this logic, I’ve been to many venues in the mainland that are +14 and have been able to enjoy a drink whilst watching the band.

Is this a Northern Ireland thing? Why wasn’t the balcony open? Granted the gig wasn’t sold out but there were too many staff on at the downstairs bar so surely you could’ve transferred some to the balcony bar? Or not opened the main bar at all during the gig and utilised the balcony instead? No issue with gigs having minors at them but please don’t ostracise the older gig goers who were looking to enjoy a few drinks during the gig!

User

So me and my friend were supposed to be going to an event called purge last night as we were part of the reps for purge, but when we got to the bouncers they said that my ID and my friends ID was apparently not us?? When it was and that we had to have another ID to back it up but I only brought my passport out as I didn’t want to loose anything else! But that wasn’t good enough? This is the second time this has happened!! Not happy at all!!, travelled the whole way from Magherafelt to not even get in even thought we were purge reps! NEVER AGAIN will I be back to Mandela hall, the bouncers are soo cheeky and disrespectful!! Not ever will I go near it again!

User

Rang about tickets for a concert tonight. The girl on the phone was so rude, asked if I could speak to a manager or supervisor that would know the answer to my question she said no and I said could I get her name and she said no and hung up the phone.

I rang back again and got hold of another staff member, who was very helpful and he answered my questions and said it was probably someone in the entertainment department as they are quite rude and often do that.

I think you should seriously speak to the staff that manage your phone line. That was absolutely ridiculous.

User

Left standing in the rain for half hour, doors where open but security personnel where pathetic. Got into the gig 15 minutes after the band had started. Bar staff couldn't cope with the volume of people (it was a sell out gig so they should have know better). Heard two songs of the support act who where fantastic but where probably wondering why they where playing to half a hall! Sort yourselves

Out if you're going to hire a sell out act. It would certainly put me off going back to the Mandela hall.

User

I love Mandela Hall, I’ve seen a lot of concerts here, really intimate, but I can’t believe how rough the security is...we saw neck deep on Wednesday and security was very rough with people crowd surfing, comparing this to secc in Glasgow where we saw neck deep in January where security where friendly and helpful and you could see they loved the crowd surfing aspect, we wife crowd surfed in Glasgow......she would dare do it in Mandela!

User

Got OMD tickets for my birthday from my hubby and was really looking forward to a fab night out. Unfortunately we only managed to stay in the hall for about 10 minutes as the sweat was dripping off of us! We eventually had to stand outside the main hall near the ladies toilets so we could at least try to enjoy some of the gig. Really very disappointed in the venue. It was unbearably hot inside and definitely turned what was meant to be a memorable birthday night out into a sweating nightmare. Couldn’t see much from outside the doors as the seating area above juts out and makes viewing the stage nearly impossible. Completely gutted my night was ruined.

User

Complete pure gak, would not recommend anyone going to this dump hole for a proper rave, simples ..... the door men are not at all with it!
