Mardavrio'S Fine Foods Deli Description
Hello folks, I'm David and along with my wife Mary we're excited to bring this new fine foods shop to Belfast's Lisburn Road . "mardavrio's" is the coming together of many years of my combined love of browsing for , learning about and of course sampling, all kinds of foods that aren't your typical day to day fare .
We aimed to stock as much locally sourced foods as possible and we are still working on that goal , though we knew that lots of products in this sector have to come from their authentic sources also , ie cured hams from Spain and Italy , cheeses from France etc , but a long term dream of mine is to stock all these regional classics and alongside have a Northern Irish version of the same product . This scenario is not as far off as you may think , Northern Ireland has a lot to offer in the terms of fine gourmet foods !
We started work on the shop in August 2015 and it took 3 months to get the shop ready to open .
Both Mary and I come from completely different working backgrounds so every step has been a learning curve - if anyone is opening a new shop and feels lost at times , give us a call , we've learnt a lot , made many mistakes also that we can help others avoid also . Our lack of experience has been matched - and more, by or passion and desire to see the dream come true .
The aim is to be knowledgeable about our products , provide them with a smile and build our relationship with our customers, and try to help source products that discerning folk might be looking for .
We will be keeping this page updated as we head onwards into this dream and our shop products will most most likely vary and go through many changes as we get to know the tastes of our customers - people in Northern Ireland know their food and know what they want and like !
