COVID-19 Update 19/03/2020
NI Department of Health have ordered a complete restriction in aerosol generating procedure, therefore we will not be carrying out routine work, e.g., fillings, crowns, root treatments etc…
NI Department of Health have allowed us to continue carrying out emergency appointments, denture work and fitting of crowns for patients who do not have symptoms of coronavirus.
... Reception when phoning patients for reminders will now be pre-screening patients to see if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 and if so rearranging appointments.
Patients in the specified vulnerable groups should only attend in an emergency situation: • Patients aged 70 or older • Patients aged 70 or younger with underlying health conditions • Patients who are pregnant
We would ask patients to attend appointments alone, when possible, and not to arrive any more than five minutes prior to appointment time.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Nigel McGale

Dear Patient / Parent
Please be reassured that the welfare of all patients, parents, colleagues and suppliers is of paramount importance and we have been constantly monitoring the developing situation and specific health board advice.
Summary of the latest advice is that:... a. we are still to be open for our patients b. we continue with our current protocols and best practice
Your responsibilities to us: a. please do not attend our clinics if you are meant to be self-isolating or showing symptoms, temperature or continuous cough. b. please minimise time spent in our facilities: arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to appointment and leave promptly when and where possible c. please do not attend with multiple children / family members d. please do not attend if you are considered higher risk (e.g. over 70, pregnant or significant medical history)
Advice is available from the PHA: https://www.publichealth.hscni.net/news/c ovid-19-coronavirus
As healthcare professionals, we only take advice from the experts and professional bodies. We will comply with their advice and respond as necessary to maximize care and provision for our patients.

Re: COVID-19
We would like to reassure our patients that we are keeping up to date with the latest and current guidance regarding COVID-19 which is being updated daily.
We are open as usual, and will keep our patients updated if this is to change. Remember we are closed tomorrow (March 17th) for St Patrick's day.
... All staff always follow stringent cross infection control measures to protect our patients and ourselves on top of usual decontamination we are continually throughout our day cleaning all reception surfaces, door handles and seating areas.
We ask patients not to attend if they are feeling unwell or have a new continuous cough. If this is the case please contact us on 02890328398 as we would rearrange your appointment for a later date.
We would ask patients, if possible, to attend appointments alone, and not to arrive any more than five minutes prior to appointment time.
Where possible we ask patients to pay via card to reduce hand to hand contact for reception staff.
Thank you for your understanding during this rapidly changing situation. Nigel and Staff

Your favourite Prosecco, Champagne, sweet rose and sweet dessert wine can be more damaging to your teeth.
Using a straw reduces the contact with the teeth and rinsing the mouth with sips of water helps the saliva in reducing the acidity in the mouth. Enjoy the festive season, but enjoy it responsibly!

User

Good luck to our trainee dental nurse Eimear sitting her written exam today!
