Our lab, offers quality research, training, consultancy, and contract R& D in the area of Microfluidics & lab-on-chip. Research Themes Examples: • Manufacturing of Polymer (e. g. , PLGA) & Lipid-based (e. g. , Liposomes, Solid Lipid Nanoparticles, Niosomes, Exosomes) Nanomedicines by microfluidics and comparison with traditional formulation methods (e. g. , extrusion, thin-film hydration, high pressure homogenization). • Manufacturing of Nanoparticles for imaging, treatment and targeting; including surface modification for cancer treatment and targeting. • Encapsulation of new or currently available drugs & biologics, including the encapsulation of therapeutic nucleic acids (e. g. , microRNA, siRNA). • Microfluidics for drug discovery and development. • Microfluidic devices for precise drug delivery. • Microfluidics for point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic devices. • In-house fabrication of microfluidic chips by: 3D Printing & Bioprinting, and injection molding. Studies include: conceptualization, formulation of nanomedicines, manufacturing of chips by 3D printing & Bioprinting technologies, advanced physicochemical characterization, computational modelling (e. g. , Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)), in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro evaluation.
