Piracy is still a major problem as 5 Indian seafarers are abducted from their ship MT Apecus while anchored in Nigeria. We hope these guys get home safely to their families very soon. 🙁
Well done to the RNLI for rescuing three crew members from a fishing trawler that had caught fire.
Tom Irwin (ship visitor) was given a very warm welcome on board Arklow Villa today (Tuesday 30th. April). He had a chat with some crew members before having a much appreciated cup of coffee, not forgetting a slice of Walnut and Ginger cake baked by Peter the Ships Chef. Peter is from the Philippines and is married man, he and his wife have a 7-year-old son. Tom explained to him what makes up an Ulster Fry much to Peter’s fascination as he had never heard or seen an Ulster Fry before.

Some pictures of the crew washing down the bridge area of The Arklow Raven, quite a task which was being very well done.
The Arklow Viking's Chef received an Easter Egg along with the rest of the crew, last week from Ship Visitor Louise. He looks very pleased to receive it.
