Naíscoil Mhachaire Rátha Description
Naícoil Mhachaire Rátha was set up in 1994 and is loacted on the Glen Road, Maghera, one of the main roads coming into and out of the town. It is located close to the town centre and serves both the town and rural areas. The Naíscoil was set up in 1994 in temporary premises to the rear of the then Bunscoil Luraigh (Independant I. M Primary School). When Bunscoil Luraigh amalgamated with St. Brigid's P. S Tirkane, Naíscoil Mhachaire Rátha remained within the town on the same premises. In 2005 the Naíscoil carried out a complete refurbisment of the former Bunscoil Luraigh building, which had lain vacant for some years and moved into the newly refurbished premises. In the years since 2005, additional works have been carried out to the grounds around the school. We are a registered Irish Language pre school fully approved by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland (DENI) and by Homefirist Northern Health & Social Services. Naícoil Mhachaire provides pre school education as set out by DENI through the medium of Irish to children aged 3-5 years.

D’fhág muid slán leis an Naíscoil inniu. Today, we said goodbye to the Naíscoil as our children now move onto Rang 1 and Primary One in September. We will miss all of our children dearly but they’re are all more than ready for the next big step in their lives - ‘big school’ and we have no doubt that their new teachers will love them just as much as we’ve loved having them with us in the Naíscoil this year. Each of our children are confident, kind, caring and now ‘independen...t’ individuals who have blossomed over the course of the year. We hope that each of our children look back and fondly remember their time with us at Naíscoil. To mark the occassion, we enjoyed an outdoor picnic today followed by a pirate party on our boat. We loved the sweets the pirates left for us in their treasure box. We hope the children enjoyed their last day with us today 😊 Slánaigí a pháistí agus ádh mór oraibh don todhchaí. Bhí craic ar dóigh againn agus bhain muid uilig sult as an lá 🤗 ‘Sport’s Day 2018’ 🌟 We had a fantastic day at our Sport’s Day today. 🌟 🏃🏻♂☀🏃♀ The weather was great and we’re extremely proud of all of our children for participating in all of their races. Our parents even got into the spirit of the day and participated in a few of the races. 🏃🏻♂☀🏃♀ We’re delighted that everyone enjoyed themselves. 🥇 All children received a medal and a certificate for their efforts 🥇 Maith sibh a pháistí!!!👏👏👏
