Last weekend saw the Swim England Masters National Championships.
There were many fantastic swims and records broken including one by NST's Kevin Smith who became the English 200m fly champion and new British record holder.

As trials season continues we look back at how far some of our Junior swimmers have come and the pathway from those first certificates at Swim Lessons to Medals at Competitive Galas.
... NST hosts pre-competition level galas; "Dolphin Gala" for 6yrs + with invited local Swim Schools, and Level 4 entry level galas; "Shrimp" for 8yrs + with invited local swim clubs. These events enable swimmers to gain experience and confidence as they graduate into competitive swimming.

Well done to our 8 11-13yr olds that were selected to represent NST at the Tyne & Wear Hub last weekend alongside 4 other participating clubs from the region.
Zoe, Emily, Katie, Millie, Ethan, William, Yassin & Olli all enjoyed the session which focused on developing skills in underwater work, breakouts and individual medley.
NST Squad Coach James Shackleton was amongst the coaches delivering the session and reflected that it was a great opportunity for both swimmers and coa...ches to train, share skills and network .

Well here is a little gem for today.
Almost 1 year ago to the day NST launched on facebook. This post was the first (it got 3 likes and 1 share) and highlights just how much of a difference a year can make.
In October 2018 NST only had 4 boys, the minimum needed, in the youngest age group to join/compete in the 2019 Junior League Competition. We launched a recruitment campaign for our youngest squads (Dolphin and SD3), starting with this post and followed by a school flyer ...drop. This year we have more than double what is needed for the 2020 Junior League Team and squads that are almost all at capacity throught the Club!
We are also pleased to say that after 12 months we have over 400+ followers, lots of people who share our posts and this little facebooker can now spell "Competitive"!! #winwin
