Newtownards St John Ambulance Ni Description
St John Ambulance Newtownards Adults have been present in the town for over 40yrs. We have 25 + members, 3 ambulances and are currently undergoing some exciting new changes (watch this space! ).
We provide first aid / ambulance cover at a multitude of events around the greater Ards / NI area - including motorbike races, car races, concerts, high profile sports events, church fetes and much much more.
We are part of St John Ambulance Northern Ireland (and the worldwide body of St John Ambulance) and are always looking for new members. If you would be interested, please email stjohnards@live.com and somebody will get back to you. Alternatively send us a private message.
Once your joining forms, Access NI forms have been processed, we will try to get you enliseted on the initial courses to get you on your way to the level you wish to become.
There are many other support roles that you may be suitable for if you do not wish to undertake operational work.

Alongside the busy antics in Newtownards yesterday, we also provided medical cover last night for Shorefest at Custom House Square along with colleagues from SJA Belfast
Today our volunteers have been extremely busy! We provided medical cover at Newtownards Christmas light switch on, while other members where helping pack bags at B&M - every pound you give helps us save lives.
There was also First aid assessments resulting in newly qualified First aiders, along with other members revalidating at their current level of training. Congratulations to everyone on passing your assessments 🎉

Our volunteers were asked to attend donaghadee youth club this evening to display some first aid to the young people and leaders.
They also got the guided tour of the ambulance and equipment carried on board too.
Today our volunteers were out providing support to NIAS 🚑
Our ambulance and crew visited Londonderry Primary School for their Autumn Scheme.
They recieved a presentation about St John Ambulance and how our volunteers provide first aid in the local community, keep people safe at events, and support the Ambulance service. They also got the chance to see around one of our A&E ambulances including all the equipment which is carried on board.
Yesterday our unit secretary marina received notification that she is to become an official sjani trainer.
This is a key role within the organisation, ensuring all standards of training is kept to very high standards.
Newtownards unit wishes marina well in her new role in supporting not only the unit but the Northern Ireland region also.
Tonight our members are providing first aid cover at Movilla Abbey Light Night 🎆
