We may be closed on Monday but there are plenty of other blood donation venues to visit next week.

User

There are a number of questions about blood donation that we are regularly asked, hopefully this album will answer most of them.

User

Another great poem that we wanted to share, we love receiving these as they get our message across so well!

User

If there is a local blood donation session in your area, just call in - you don't need to be registered beforehand.

Yesterday was my first time & it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience , from the initial phone call to a lovely lady at reception , through the induction & the staff who looked after me during the whole process. If all works out I hope to be back again soon.

User

Staff are really down to earth and friendly making you feel relaxed. So easy to donate, you get to lie down and the actual donation only takes about 10mins. Even get a wee cuppa after and biccies!

User

Since I am able to donate platelets I am going there once a month. The whole process is painless and you get well looked after by the brilliant staff working there. If you're not already donating then you should take a bit of time off to do so, you will help someone who needs it.

User

No need to worry your well looked after and you get a wee cup of tea or coffee afterwards.

If you've never done it and are able please give it a go.

User

I’m a Platelets donor and have visited here every 4 weeks roughly for the past few years, Staff are friendly and welcoming and reassuring if you have any concerns, I encourage any to call in whether it’s for Blood or Platelets

User

It's that cliché...who knows if we maybe might need blood if we are going to be an accident or worse a family member. It costs absolutely NOTHING!!As a nurse commented when I give platelets...this stuff is pure GOLD. Giving Blood or platelets is a brilliant thing to do. It costs nothing but money can't buy this blood or the platelets. The staff are really brilliant as well. Very warm friendly welcoming. Its a pleasure to do this every month. What are you waiting for? I promise it will give you a massive Buzz

User

I just want to say a massive THANK-YOU to everyone who takes the time to donate blood. I needed 4 transfusions a few days ago and wouldn't be here without you all so for that I'll be eternally grateful.

For those of you that don't donate, please check out your nearest session and get yourself down there. You never know when family or friends might need it.

User

I donated for the first time today when the mobile truck came to my work. The staff were fantastic and put me at ease. I felt a bit light headed afterwards and again the staff were brilliant looking after me, thank you! Will definitely donate again!

User

I came up from Meath on Monday to Belfast. Staff were very friendly, as I travelled up I had people with me and they waited in waiting area. They also say the staff were very friendly and they didn't feel like they were in the way. My little boy was even given juice and biscuits. I will definitely be making the trip again even if it is only when you are in Newry, cause at the end of the day an 1- 1.5 hours trip is nothing compared to someone life.

User

I am 0 negative and am more than happy to donate my blood The medical staff are great, look after you during the session. You rest up while they take your blood, it doesn't take long and you get to rest after and you get a cup of tea. So register today. You just might save a life!

User

Great place for a pint lol.

We Need more to give as there's always a need for blood and only a small percentage of Northern Ireland people give blood.

So weather it's your first time or your old hand in giving blood the staff will always make you feel welcome relaxed and give you as much information as you require. Thumbs up to the Northern Ireland blood transfusion service

User

Fantastic staff. Really helpful and friendly, and they spoil you with treats if you're a platelet donor

User

Donated my blood for the first time today in Ballymoney. Have met some amazing people. Staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed!

User

Attended the Ballycrochan Presbyterian hall unit this evening in Bangor. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, both the staff as well as all those attending. As good as painless, and no ill side effects for me, not even the expected dizziness. Free drinks and biscuits after, all so communal and warm. The lady serving the free drinks even double checked if all was okay as I put my coat on to leave. Highly recommend it, and it is all for a very good cause!

User

Attended Wesley Centenary session on 22nd March. Brought my 9 year old son & he was made to feel a part of the donation just as much as me. Everything that was going on was explained to him. Even got to touch my bag of blood at end. He's not squeamish! Came away with a bandage to practice on his teddy....which he did as soon as we were home!

User

Went to a last minute changed location tonight in Downpatrick, the (RGU) and as usual the staff were excellent as were the facilities. I recommend you consider this as a new venue as it is more modern and parking is excellent which may appeal to more people in the area to donate.
