Northern Ireland Shotokan Karate Association or NISKA was brought to life in 2015 by Sensei Terry Geddis 5th Dan with the aim to:

- Promote and practice the art of Shotokan Karate within Northern Ireland
- Independently fund opportunities for affiliated members to enhance, demonstrate and support Shotokan Karate globally
- Increase referee status at local, national and international level
- Provide opportunities for affiliate members to compete at various levels throughout the world in the practice of Shotokan Karate.
- Through fundraising, the association will subsidise members to travel and compete in competitions
